Apps' missing taskbar icons after removing Internet Explorer

After I removed Internet Explorer the apps' taskbar icons are missing. They are invisible. How can I recover them without having to have Internet Explorer against my will?

I tested again and now they are visible but Internet Explorer wasn't removed in spite of supposedly having removed it with NTLite. It still shows up in Optional Features.

Is it possible to use the following cmd command and cmdlet in NTLite to immediately run after the install is finished in order to remove Internet Explorer and the Microsoft Quick Assist app from the Optional Features list? If so, how can I do it and will it succeed? It's because I'd run them after installing Windows and Internet Explorer and the Microsoft Quick Assist app would've been removed and wouldn't show up in Optional Features.

FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*11.*.mum /c “cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up: @fname /norestart /quiet”

Remove-WindowsCapability -online -name App.Support.QuickAssist~~~~0.0.1.0

EDIT: I just remembered I previously used the following cmdlet and the Microsoft Quick Assist app still showed in Optional Features although it's slightly different from the previous cmdlet I mentioned:

DISM /Online /Remove-Capability /CapabilityName:App.Support.QuickAssist~~~~0.0.1.0

Is it possible to run the cmd command and the cmdlet outside NTLite and if so how can I rebuild the image in order to recover some space like in MSMG ToolKit?

@Windows 10 User, since you say IE wasn't removed, which is not what I see, do you maybe integrate a cumulative update or something after removals in a second session before installing it?
If I see IE leftovers it would get fixed, there is nothing you would need to run after install. But since you got different results yourself there must be something else at play.

NTLite always rebuilds an image when saving it. You can initiate manually on the Source page, right-click on a WIM and choose Convert - Rebuild. Image must be unloaded/unmounted first of course.

Let me know if the icon or IE leftover is the issue so I can test for, it cannot be randomly one or the other, please see what else you might be doing so I can repeat the process.

What do you mean by which is not what you see? No, I didn't integrate a thing.

I don't find that option to rebuild an image. Now the problem is Internet Explorer not having been completely removed because it still shows up in Optional Features.

But is it possible to run the cmd command and the cmdlet I mentioned before after mounting the image in NTLite or/and outside of it?

EDIT: Now I can't delete a folder which has a image. It looks like I closed the PowerShell's window by mistake when unmounting the image and not even with BlitzBlank, Windows 10PE SE and Safe Mode I can delete the folder. I can't unmount the image too. What should I do?

EDIT 2: Finally, I deleted the folder!

NTLite Sources page will show anything that is mounted and you can unmount them.

Strange, I still can't find that option. But if NTLite will always rebuild an image when saving it there's no problem, right?

I think this problem has to do with something I remove in the Components' tab because if I configure all the other tabs except this one I don't have it and even after or during that I also configure the apps and system apps, as well as the languages, keyboard layouts, Windows Media Player and Internet Explorer (both the interface and the Adobe Flash Player for IE) I don't have it. Well, it will take a lot of time to know which thing after being removed causes this problem. I'll have to waste a good amount of time with trial and error.

EDIT: It seems like there's something that is removed in the Multimedia tab under Components that is causing this.

EDIT 2: It's so strange. It looks like it wasn't the Internet Explorer Feature (UI) and/or Adobe Flash Player for Internet Explorer removal which caused the apps' icons problem but the Photo Codec (Photo Viewer) removal, which doesn't make any sense! It looks like I'll have to remove it with MSMG ToolKit (and pray it won't cause this problem again) and probably before using NTLite since for some reason I can't use it to remove the Microsoft Quick Assist app after using DISM in it. Is it possible to remove it using a cmd command or cmdlet in NTLite? Will I have any problem after removing Adobe Flash Player for Internet Explorer even though I removed Internet Explorer Feature (UI)? Actually, I was removing the Photo Viewer before using MSMG ToolKit because I don't need it since I have the Photos app so it isn't a problem but what if I wanted to keep it without breaking the apps' icons?

EDIT 3: Oddly enough, after removing the Photo Viewer using MSMG ToolKit it still shows up in NTLite as only Photo Codec (it doesn't have Photo Viewer inside), however. Just to be sure I don't have the apps' icons problem again, I didn't remove it this time and I won't do that in the future. What's the difference between install.wim and boot.wim and should I configure both? And what's the removal of non-essential editions?

EDIT 4: I changed my mind and removed the empty Photo Codec just to see what would happen and the apps' icons problem returned so now I know I mustn't do that. It looks like MSMG ToolKit removes the Microsoft Quick Assist app but doesn't remove Windows Photo Viewer in the new RS3, which is annoying since I only want to have the Photos app. MSMG ToolKit doesn't support it yet. Removing Photo Codec with NTLite in RS3 also causes the apps' icon problem.

Thanks for the feedback, but it's very difficult to read. Can you extrapolate what are your remaining issues, is it still that removing IE removes all icons?

I know but after that I successfully removed it with NTLite and it didn't break a thing. I thought it was the Inter Explorer removal that caused the problem but actually it was the Photo Codec one. Never mind what I said. Also, can I have any problems after removing Adobe Flash Player for Internet Explorer?

Even for Edge? I tried watching videos on it after removing Adobe Flash and I didn't have trouble although I think it has an internal Flash Player like Chrome so I think I won't have a problem in Chrome too but in that case I should have problems in browsers which don't have Flash Player so in my opinion it should be named Adobe Flash Player and not Adobe Flash Player for Internet Explorer.

Youtube and other websites plays videos with HTML5, that's why Flash releases is going to end in 2019.

If you go to speedtest.net without flash, it will offer beta version (HTML5).

What about some browsers' internal flash? They aren't needed because some sites support HTML5, then? So, do you think I should remove it? What about some games? Do they need Flash Player? If so, can I play them just by installing it or do I need the one which was removed by NTLite and so I can't install it (I think)?

"browsers' internal flash" doesn't exist, websites' code uses HTML5 and browsers support HTML5.

When a game or any other media needs flash, it will tell you if is not installed.

Try removing flash player then try to install it from adobe and if there is any issue, let us know.

Well, since I removed Internet Explorer I think I don't need it.
