Question about Win 10 Cumulative Updates

Just curious - is it okay to do update Windows normally using Windows Update when there are a bunch of components removed? Just wondering if maybe the Cumulative Updates will bring back files, or certain components over time. I know Feature Updates will of course bring those back.
