working well so far!
thank you for the clarification.
ugh, talk about a needle in a haystack,...
I did a side-by-side comparison of the .xml former and auto-saved presets, found only a small amount of differences; so am loading a new iso onto a flashdrive and seeing if the application in...
I think I have found my error in a previous preset install.
But to assure I do not make any assumptions in the NTLite process; Exactly how do I run the exact same preset as was Auto-Saved,
but make ONE change to its settings (in this case not remove a specific component) yet keep everything...
well, I am unsure if this thread is being viewed, however, for posterity, I pasted the contents of each of the above .xml files into [https://text-compare.com/] and have a result; This results shows the components either removed, or patches added, which hopefully will help in finding the...
Excuse me for reviving this thread, but I have a particular issue with the current install where a specific program can not get installed, no error, just log of the vague M$ Error 1000 which states something is missing or being prevented. This program was the very first install after newly...
WOOTWOOT!:D
Successful & auto-activated install using the OEM Disk, the v1.8.0.6776 and replaced oobe.cmd;
I learned also that the "backup-" text needs to be removed from the file name of the backed-up cert that is placed in \scripts\ directory as the oobe.cmd calls specifically for it by name...
WOOT!
Progress!
YEAH!, Thank You Nuhi! for the v1.8.0.6776.
That and tell NTL not to "trim" allowed for a successful install on Alienware Laptop.
{so was it the lack of trim or the newer version that resulted in successful install?}
However, it seems I may not have done the oobe correctly in...
not sure if this is important, but I found this oobe.cmd already in the scripts folder on the Alienware OEM disk while attempting to follow the oobe.txt guidance....
will re-attempt following this guidance and create new .iso; as previously had NTLite "trim" unneeded versions.
this is the previous preset that I had success with on my current Dells (removed and then re-added all patches is only difference, nothing else was changed)
the .RAR is the previous...
Thank you ALL! for the guidance! :D:cool:
I actually found a Dell win7u disk, so I can try that as an alternative; I do experience the winload error immediately after the "Press any key..." prompt.
And previously I was using a USB-connected external CD/DVD-burner; so great IDEA! for the use of a...
well, all of the .ru domains referenced on the site that expected to run scripts gave me pause; selecting win7ultimate as is the Alienware OEM disk I have stated it could not be found. /shrug
I need to go through NTLite's quite exhaustive list with a fine-toothed comb, because the second burned...
and this supposed ISO comes automatically "activated" on an Alienware system?
and, rather presumptuous, no?, expecting that "EVERYONE must have Unlimited Bandwidth ISP accounts."
well, the NTL got all the way through the patches and such, burned the DVD (although using win7 built-in burner, so that might be a problem)
status: 0xc0000001
file: winload.exe
missing or corrupt
any ideas?
edit:
since I can not upload the ntlite.log.bak for some unknown reason, here is its...
Thank you again for the continued assistance.
That I may understand fully, the statement "problems with image" means the files that were copied from the OEM DVD itself?
while I have a .iso of the disk created by Imgburn, I have not found a means to directly use it within NTLite.
So all I have...
well, installed newest version, and was presented with the "The program unexpectedly crashed" error. apparently, NTLite.dmp is not an allowed extension.... opened with and saved as .txt
no real reason beyond 6440 is what worked flawlessly in the recent past.
(do I need to purchase another or renew my current license ?)
will create ISO of the install CD and work with that. (was initially just copying the contents of the disk to hard drive directory)
when you state "preset"...
ok, so I removed all the drivers, I removed from the patch store directory all of the .exe files, and each time I am still receiving the frustratingly vague error: Error: Aborted - Package integration [13] The data is invalid.
which data?
Did I not recall some setting that stated force only latestest use of .net or something? Was not entirely sure. But the setting makes sense. Expecting 4.0 has what 3.5 has and each latest edition ought have everything unique that was included since 1.0....

the kiddies reference now...
