Why not contribute to Bottles of Wine if so?

Trying to install the proper drivers to support xHCI USB 3.0 devices in Windows 7 x64 bit

May I ask the question why it has to be Windows 7? Is there any production need that newer Windows simply do not work?

Then maybe you can try downloading the patch here and including it in the updates? https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=Windows%20ltsb

    Office365 Package and Silent Install

It really depends on the licensing model of Office 2021 Pro Plus. If it is the old "machine-based" license, then it should work for multiple users once it is activated via KMS when the device joins AD. For other questions, I suggest you contact your local Microsoft sales and support, since the...

Appx integration not working with NTLite .9910 or .9916

Agreed. While I can make the MSI installation such that there is no desktop icon and no background Mozilla Maintenance Service, you still miss the ability for background updates by Microsoft Store. I just tried your preset above with build .9925. While I do not have the .reg files mentioned in...

Appx integration not working with NTLite .9910 or .9916

Hi ZilchGuy, Maybe I am side-tracking, but may I know if you must use MSIX for installation of Firefox and Thunderbird? While both MSIX are fully supported versions downloadable from Mozilla, I think Firefox and Thunderbird really installs best with EXE or MSI versions because of customization...

Appx integration not working with NTLite .9910 or .9916

Have you tried downloading official Firefox MSIX here and Thunderbird here? I have just integrated Firefox MSIX into my image, and I did not experience your problem.

    PowerShell script not running

After some testing, I added the following scripts, which you can run with admin credentials (such as the "Specialize" pass during OOBE), to add a scheduled task to rename computer. <settings pass="specialize"> <component name="Microsoft-Windows-Deployment"...

If you are trying out the concept of a Kiosk, you may have a look at "Windows Configuration Designer" that has Kiosk profiles for Windows.

    PowerShell script not running

I think what you mean is the built-in 'Administrator" account, which bypasses Admin Approval Mode by default. Yet Windows disables this built-in Administrator account by default for security reasons.

    PowerShell script not running

    1) If this is for "massive deployment", I think you should re-consider your strategy from the ground up, since "Rename-Computer" requires administrative user rights and Admin Approval Mode (i.e., you must click "Yes" at the UAC prompt) if you run in "After Logon". A standard user in a domain...

How about configuring static IP address OR DHCP Reservation? This way you can preset the computer name in unattend XML without dynamically generating it via PowerShell.

Default file associations for browser and PDF

I was testing with my sysprep procedure, and it turns out Edge would take over the default ".pdf" viewer no matter how I configure the default associations if I use sysprep and capture a WIM. I wonder if anyone else also experiences something similar.

Default file associations for browser and PDF

    1) I think you need to export the complete XML from a reference computer that has the association pre-configured. 2) I think local GPO (LGPO.exe) is better if your Windows supports it (i.e., not Home version). More details here about GPO for file associations.

    Two NTLite Questions

Nevermind, you have already ended a discussion with someone who deployed >10000 Windows 10/11 GAC/SAC/LTSC/LTSB in a city with the most secure organization required by law. PS: I hope your journey to an "air-gapped yet updated with no unwanted apps Windows consumer OS" could come to a great end.

Windows 11 Enterprise 23H2 bloatware cleanup

You may take a look at the deprecated features in Windows, which Microsoft no longer develops, and remove them in NTLite or with PowerShell scripts. For example, all the XBox-related apps, the "Microsoft Mixed Reality" apps, "Bing" apps, the "Alljoyn" and "WordPad", "Zune" and "Steps Recorder"...

    Problem with post-installation (MSI)

I would also suggest you logon with your administrative account first and try to install the software one-by-one, then you can have a look at which one is taking long time. Please note that the "/passive" parameter affects how "msiexec.exe" interacts with the MSI, but the actions relevant to...

Does anyone know how to setup a PXE server with a NTLite ISO?

I am not sure if this is related: "The operating system deployment functionality of Windows Deployment Services (WDS) is being partially deprecated. Starting with Windows 11, workflows that rely on boot.wim from installation media or on running Windows Setup in WDS mode will no longer be...
