Error when starting the program

Are you still using a free edition? You should make that clear for nuhi.
What happens if you rename license.dat and run NTLite?

I use both paid and free version, the same error is present. I have a sandbox, so every time I install the program from scratch. I just copy license.dat and settings XML to the program folder and never had any problems. Okay then I'll write nuhi. Thank you for your response!

If you're using Sandbox, what happens when you don't copy license.dat and settings.xml? It will be a clean install.
My understanding is Sandbox is a virtualized environment and not a complete VM -- therefore no real device info is passed thru.

Previously, there were no problems, I always ran it in the sandbox and everything worked fine, the problems are only in the latest version. If you run the free version without copying the license.dat and settings.xml files, you get the same as in the screenshot. By the way, there are no problems when activating online. When activated online with the Internet turned on, I copy license.dat and settings.xml and everything works fine.

Now I launched the free version of the program with the Internet turned on and there is no error. The error occurs only when the Internet is disabled.

The error occurs only when the Internet is disabled.
That, plus the error message is clear.
If network adapter is disabled, it has nothing to read from to tag that hardware.

Let me know if it's still unclear, and enable network adapter when using NTLite.

I can't activate offline. Is that how it should be? With the Internet turned on, I received a message. Offline license recovery failed, double-check your code or activate online.

Make sure to use the latest version, v2.3.4+, and reactivate online. The new version backs up activations on the server, so you don't have to bother about it, just reactivate online with the same machine and it won't spend another activation if nothing changed.
If your question is why is your previous activation not being picked up, that means something changed from the time it was activated.

Going forward, if you see any issues, make sure that the hardware is not changing for it to work with the same activation.
If using a VM, that includes no cloning, no changing of network adapter MAC, etc, treat it as a real machine.

Tool/activation works offline, just not without (or with disabled) network adapter. Unplug the cable to confirm.
May change that reliance on the network adapter in the future, tag it to something else instead, for now it is as intended.

Windows Sandbox is a special case, it's not a full VM environment, more like an app container. There's no files or registry persistence when you exit Sandbox, unless you copied files out to the "network share". You cannot manage what virtualized device info is provided.

I use this program https://www.faronics.com/en-uk/products/deep-freeze/standard I never had any problems, everything worked without an included internet adapter

Oh, I missed the part about the sandbox, thanks garlin.
That's not supported, the point of the sandbox is to hide parts of the OS, which in the case of activation permanence is not possible.

It's not about the sandbox, I turned it off, put the program clean, launched the free version, the error also appears. This was not the case in the previous version. I don't think it should be.
The license was reactivated via the Internet, but now it only works if the network adapter is turned on, even if the cable is unplugged. This was not the case in NTLite_2.3.2.8585. This problem is only in version 2.3.4.8620

i experinced similar problem with, 8615 and 8618

solved it by uninstalling ntlite, reinstalling the stable version and reactivating with my licence backup. or u can try online activation for once. i think yours might be messed up as mine too.

There were no differences in net adapter requirements since the start of the tool in 2014.
Feel free to get any version and recompare.

Might be a bit of misunderstanding here, he's saying the net adapter wasn't required in earlier versions.

I bought a license in July last year, used different versions, offline activation worked with the network adapter turned off.
