Preset folder layout.

Nuhi, ive organised my preset pack into subfolders for each os and i want to put those folders into the tools Presets folder, have it scan for subfolders and list the presets inside them, have an expand/collapse option for each subfolder, and possible a Move option. Let the tool save a preset in the main folder as it does now and be able to move them once done. I dont know if this would benefit many users or not, it may just be a personal whim but i may aswell float it and see what others think. It may be handy for those that service more than one os or build.

How about saving a preset to a subfolder depending on the os being serviced?
If you did do it then use the naming schemes you do for Updates Downloader but without the architecture type, keeps the naming schemes uniform throughout the tool and i can rename the folders. :)

Edit, I have changed the pack folder naming scheme.

Months ago i thought something similar but different:

Add a feature to NTLite that reads the folder preset and its subfolders (any folder name) and the ability to:

Choose a presets folder only
Choose a subfolder to load its presets only
Choose all presets in preset folder and subpresets

Wether is by a checkbox or a dropdown menu.

Nothing less, nothing more.

Yeah, checkboxes for modul;ar presets, menu like the apply page on the left. :)
...or like the compatibility options to have a clean screen.

For the registry could be like the preset list on load but add checkboxes next to each reg file like the apply page on the left.

What about drag and drop export. we have drag n drop to the preset list, drag n export would be quicker. :)

Yeah with the reg files. I do have a small basic set of tweaks, either during install or after 1st logon. I would rather be able to mount the whole registry at once, i mentioned this elsewhere but i forget where elsewhere is :p:D

I don't know, i always have the Presets folder open for compare presets or open with notepad++ and i wouldn't use it.

I wonder why you would add reg files on setup other than permissions, i think that could be done by running NTLite with ExecTI, small, and simple tool, needs to run as admin. Not sure if i tested ExecTI for reg files that need permissions.

An alternative tool, cough cough, mounts the whole registry in 1 location in the host. I can run reg and bats/cmds from Power Run and install them into the image registry from there. .

Even if we can only get a drag to export preset i'll be satisfied and it will much much quicker too. :)

to me this falls under a general category of filters, some just visual, others more functional, like with presets.

It may be handy for those that service more than one os or build
- I like these ideas simply as part of facilitating trial and error with various builds to determine the one I prefer.
- But also like anything that makes it easier to see things better at glance..the program is already great in this respect.

Some additional filtering would be great for presets, but also in other areas*:
1. Presets (oops, this already exists, hadn't seeen it: type eg "1607" in a filter box to bring up/isolate related filters and filter folders/containers)
2. Compatibility (an option to show only those items which have been unlocked by current Compatibility selections; and an inverse option)
3. ??

*(..though i assume I don't really understand the program well enough to know why things are as they already are...)
