Question about cumulative updates and Windows 10

Hi,

From what I've known, the previous versions of NTLite is plagued with an issue: After component removal, cumulative updates won't install.

However, I've read the changelog, and saw this:

1.4.0.5525
NEW
General: Win10 RS3 16257 build support
Components: Windows Updates install support after removals
Components: Win10 and 8.1 SFC scannow support after removals
Components: Win10 and 8.1 DISM ScanHealth support after removals

Does this mean I can now remove anything I want, and updates would install normally? Is there any particular components I should be wary of?

Thank you very much.

Hi,

yes, now it works in 99% of cases, just make sure to enable Windows Update compatibility in Components - toolbar - Compatibility window.

When I say 99% of cases, issue is with cumulatives changing and growing each month, so it is fair to assume that there might be issues in various cumulative version to version combinations. Also not enough time has passed for the engine maturity. But the 1.5 does look good, I haven't had issues upgrading 2 months in a row on a very minimal install.

But once you see any issue, feel free to report it, and sometimes it can be fixed without reinstall, worst case scenario you use Host Refresh wizard to upgrade without reinstalling apps.
