re: LTSC 21H2 X64

This month's cumulative update is not listed (nor is last month's for that matter).

KB5012170 has been removed, possibly on purpose. If it is on purpose and not going to be re-added, it would be nice if a description was shown when it is in the download folder and shows as "external".

KB5015684 is listed but when I attempt to install it, it says it is not applicable to this computer. Is the update list for LTSC 21H2 X64 the same list as non LTSC by chance?

Thanks

from my understanding KB5015684 is not applicable with ltsc. it isnt even listed in the microsoft update catalog

KB5012170 is Secure Boot DBX, which required UEFI firmware changes. Some PC's are experiencing problems with it, so it shouldn't be an automatic recommendation. Much like how Spectre/Meltdown mitigations played out.

KB5015684 is Enablement to 22H2 (upgrade), that wouldn't apply to LTSC since it's a feature (not quality) update.

hm, what do you mean, I see KB5017308 on the list, which one do you expect?

Oh, my mistake, I thought newer cumulative update included that hotfix, that's how it usually goes, but not this time.
Returned on the list.

Thanks.

KB5017308 not showing here.

KB5012170 may well be in the newer cumulative update - didn't think to try without integrating it to see. I will try Snap1.jpglater and report back.

Thanks!
I see the KB on your list wrongly detected as Other, please try the new update list with the corrected KB5017308 detection.
Not sure why would you say it wasn't being updated for 2 months though.
Keep me updated as you see any issues in the future.

As for KB5012170, no need to test it as far as I'm concerned, it is probably not obsolete yet.

Poor wording I guess. I just meant that there was not any cumulative update listed, old or new.

Already did and can confirm it is still needed with the new cumulative update.

All looks good now, but I am still confused about KB5015684. Is it listed because this list is shared with non LTSC versions that do use it?

KB5012170 isn't linked to the CU. It's a separate UEFI security measure to ban "unsecure" firmware modules by updating the DBX table.

If your firmware is compliant, then no problems. But if your BIOS cannot be updated, then Windows won't be allowed to boot. MS knows some PC models will have problems, and blocking WU from offering it to them.

KB5012170 should be listed, but not marked as suggested since it's not universally safe. More so if you're building an image for another PC that you can't test right away.

Agreed, corrected, it's not pre-checked now.
