Hi,
The Servicing Stack Update of September (KB4516655) cannot be integrated in the Windows 7 SP1 original image (x86 Ultimate).
It is ignored.

pmikep ive got 01-2016-07-27-windows6.1-kb3177467-x64-SS.msu if you want it and this lot if you want any of them.
This is my group 1 set of updates, the basics, they would go into every build.

Wow. A LOT fewer Updates than I have.

I'll have to try your list.

But mine will be even shorter, since I don't install IE11.

(Unless you think it recommended. I remember, from the old NT days, that an IE update would often update the

Clanger I haven't tried your minimalist Update list yet. But after running into Flag 9 problems during a Host Refresh (because I forgot to keep PE in the wim). I am wondering if now, with all the latest (and last) Updates to Win7, it is necessary to integrate the Updates into the Setup and PE wim during Processing?

Thats not the full update list till EOL, they are just the basic to get to "sp2" status. There are more, approx 40 to 50.
THat lot are all for install.wim, i dont put nothing into boot.wim setup except for the ms nvme and intel usb3 drivers, they are all in my w7 x64 driver pack on mediafire, link on my profile page. That pack also contains intel usb driver and the modded canonkong driver. See here.

Updates to W7 PE (Setup) are optional, but don't make a difference. It's a springboard for running Setup.
Updates to W7 PE (Boot) can be useful, if you're intending to use it for install/repair situations which require a newer SSU version.

Rats. There's something about Integrating all those new Updates that is preventing Host Refresh Setup from completing. (The message is "Setup can't complete." And it tells me that it will roll back to previous Windows.)

It fails to complete on my desktop. I'm trying in a VM as I write this, to see if the problem follows my desktop (and its drivers) or it follows the Updates.

Depending on what happens in the VM, perhaps I have to integrate the Updates into the PE?

Else I could slipstream the Updates into a Live Windows after a Host Refresh. But since NTLite does some sort of "Cleaning" Operation when working on an off-line image, I get the sense that Updates are cleaner integrating Updates into the image first.

Sigh.

Double Rats. Host Refresh did the same thing in the VM with the Updates.

So I'll try integrating Updates into PE. If that doesn't work, then I'll go back starting with Win7+SP1+the Convenience Rollup (instead of a virgin Win7+Sp1 only) and only add updates after the date of the CR.

Servicing stack is always necessary, that checking is the only one disabled on Win7 compared to before.
SHA update as well, it's needed for anything signed, so always install/integrate those 2.

Since already discussing Win7 host refresh in another topic, no need to duplicate it in this old one.
