Did I break my Network with my NTL install?

Thanks very much, Kasual. Please correct me if i'm wrong but "Diagnostics and Troubleshooting" would only be needed to troubleshoot the problem rather than being part of making my micro network work. k

Did I break my Network with my NTL install?

Just built & installed a fresh version of W7 Pro 64 on my laptop with NTL and, so far, it's working well. Except for my "network" - which is simply a Workgroup config on both my desktop W7 64 machine and my laptop. I've used this config for years without problems. But now my desktop still...

NTLite still confused over Temp Files

Sorry, yes it is. In both of these examples one of the "partitions" is both a ramdrive AND the Win TMP folder.

NTLite still confused over Temp Files

I reported this using an earlier ver but it's still in 1.6.0.6146: When setting temp folders if they have the same name NTL appears to think they're the same location even though they're on different partitions.

    Interesting Stuff

@ Clanger RE: your recommendation of a "Windows Services Manager" you might want to look at this full-featured replacement for M$'s script kiddie-built MMC "snapins". It's not perfect (i'd like to lose the annoying tooltip) but you can drag & drop the column headers and the other, non-services...

    Windows 7 - Updates Download List 2018-02

PS: I downloaded this file and tried to manually install IE but immediately got this error: "Setup can't continue because a more recent version of IE in installed on your computer."

    Windows 7 - Updates Download List 2018-02

OK, I used your updates list with no additions or subtractions on my last completed W7 64 Pro build. There were no "reds" in the list on the update page and the integration didn't throw any errors. But IE11 didn't install. Under components I did remove IE8 - I don't know it that might have any...

    Missing Driver (s) ?

@ nuhi Thanks for your reply. I'm sorry but I don't understand your question. Any part of it actually.( you should probably assume that I know nothing at all which isn't entirely true but more accurate than assuming that I know as much as most of your forum visitors) Let me recap: I'm...

    Missing Driver (s) ?

@ Kasual Thanks for your efforts but i'm not finding what you're describing. You said: but I didn't attempt to modify my previous build with the missing USB drivers - I built a complete new image from scratch (to integrate your updates). So when I open NTL, reload the modified source folder...

    Missing Driver (s) ?

@ Kasual Thanks for replying but you've just spoken Greek to me. (w/ my apologies to any Greek members!) I'm very happy to oblige but I need "See Spot Run" directions i'm afraid...

    Windows 7 - Updates Download List 2018-02

I just used your updates files to replace the mess I had. 224 updates as opposed to 509 ! (don't ask) Saved me 1/2 hr of build time and who knows how many headaches after install. From having done similar projects I can tell that it took you a ton of time to do this. So thank you, thank you...

    Missing Driver (s) ?

@ nuhi Thanks for your explanations. ( I saved the setupapi.dev.log and will, after I get a successful install, post about that if still necessary) While I was waiting for inspiration I read a bunch of forum posts and one of kasual's convinced me to do over my updates so I built...

    Missing Driver (s) ?

@Clanger Thanks for your reply. I looked this up in my NTLite Missing Manual and some fool had torn that page out! Could you be a bit more specific for this poor noob adrift in uncharted waters? @ pmikep Thanks! I think I can find & fix this!

    Missing Driver (s) ?

NTLite noob here. Built a W7-64 pro install for my Lenovo X-1 laptop (which has only 3.0 USB ports) using another W7-64 machine. The drivers I used were backed up from the current W7 64 install on the X-1 I added ALL Lenovo drivers and got this error message during build: "Driver Integration...
