This also happens to me with the "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available” setting turned off. It seems to happen automatically in a few hours or the next day of a fresh install.

Okay I re-checked Input Method Editor (IME) and I'm still getting the same error. It seems like this only happens after I connect the VM to the internet for the first time. Maybe this notification is related to the issue? Everything goes to hell after this pops up.

Okay... after some trial and error, I finally figured out the problem! Removing the "Windows Feature Experience Pack - Desktop" component is what's breaking search. Hopefully there's a way we could separate it from SearchHost.exe, in order to make it work while still removing the bloatware.
