Convert boot.wim to ESD

That's because the Windows boot manager doesn't support ESD files. Never has, and probably never will.
It's always boot.wim; but Setup reads WIM, split WIM (.swm), and ESD formats.
 
Currently if you select the ESD mode in Apply, it will create boom.wim instead of boot.esd
You probably meant when processing Install + Boot.wim in a single session.
Explanation as garlin said, Windows setup does not support it.

I now tested by loading boot.wim specifically, and it does not allow for ESD compression selection on the Apply page.
Let me know if you see differently.
