ActiveX Blacklist

Is there any security benefit to keeping the IE ActiveX blacklist if I remove ActiveX installation functionality from Internet Explorer?

I've been leaving it in case there's some undocumented way to install ActiveX scripts that could be exploited, but I'm not sure it helps at all.
