i have the same problem. i thought it was 'auto-attend' so i disabled it and still loops without completing. BUT when i shut down the virtual machine (after 10 minutes of it staying on screen) i get the error window saying how do i want to boot (safe mode, safe mode with networking, Windows 7) i choose Windows 7 and the desktop starts right up with no issues... so the installation goes thru BUT it doesnt end like it should...

I find it very strange because I chose fr33thy's preset from his yt video

i have some cmd commands and other things happening, i will remove auto-attend & post installation and see the results... ill also try fr33thys preset and see if i get the same result.

I used Fr33thy's Guide.

That's the problem. Once you get to know him you realize that Fr33thy is a self-absorbed idiot. He shares stuff with confidence and then blames you when it doesn't work. Seriously... be careful. He's fried several of his own motherboards and he won't care if he bricks yours.

I think ntlite developers should make a detailed video guide for ntlite.

developers? nuhi should be so lucky, there is him and only him. make a video guide? that would be very time consuming. stop asking for video guides

if i relied on video guides when i started doing this then i would have been FoL. reading curiosity and the willingness to tinker around got me my knowledge, with questions asked here and there where needed.

i have subbed Fr33thy's channel. i noticed a few things on his 8.1 project that may be of interest so i will look at what he has got for w7.

Hi,

ok, tested it and confirmed, but it's not a bug, it's a dependency.
Whenever you see that particular issue, make sure to enable the OOBE compatibility option in Components - toolbar - Compatibility, that's where I put the needed components for that part of the setup.

So once enabled, the following components are not removed:
<c>pushnotifications 'Windows Push Notifications Service (WNS)'</c>
<c>pushnotificationssvc 'Windows Push Notifications System Service'</c>
<c>capabilityaccess 'Capability Access'</c>

If nitpicky try one by one to see minimum needed in your case, or enable OOBE compat and be done with it, future proofing as well.
Tested with OOBE compat enabled, then the preset works - pushnotificationssvc in particular has the note that it's needed for 1709 OOBE.
Could be that he did the test on another version.

Thanks.

tharri, I see your point about his style, that's deliberate.
Without confidence, there is no YouTube channel, it's up to the viewer to self-regulate - also it's commendable that he is not hiding his failures.

While on the topic, I will do an interview with Fr33thy, give my 2 cents as many users follow his guides - I learned about him from requests by NTLite users to send them a particularly old version of the tool as he suggested in a video. We already talked about it over email, all fine, that's when the idea for an interview came.
He means well, and is very knowledgeable - but with any tweaking, things can go wrong, that's why MS reduced their support workload by not giving us componentization, for example.

ahh, so thats why people are asking for old version X. things can also go wrong if you add something while using a guide, introduce 1 variable and it all goes to pot.

Can we learn a few things from him? Sure. Of course, there is nothing wrong with sharing stuff with confidence.

And I'm also sure that he has brought you lots of business.

It's the blaming part that is the problem. He presumes all of his recommendations work at all times and on all systems. So when something doesn't work, it *has* to be your fault. He never accepts responsibility for making bad recommendations.

I say all this after been a groupie -- having spent every day for a two months on his discord channel. He has some of the most toxic mods I've ever seen. They ridicule, bash, demean, and mock literally anyone who has problems doing something that he recommends.

- If you are critical of him in any way, you are banned.
- If you point out that he was wrong about something, you are banned.
- If you merely mention something like ReviOS, you are banned.

Other tweaking Discords are literally full of people who got banned from his Discord for reasons like those above.

And then there's the fact that Fr33thy has literally bragged in public forums about exploiting people's ignorance.

Fr33thy has a bad reputation among educated tweakers. He is popular because of uneducated gamers who don't realize what a fraud he is.
