Hello Folks,
How's it going?
Great to see NTLite, COMPLETELY forgot about Lite. Last encountered Lite in 7, for my purpose I did not require this tool at this time. Now that landscape has changed, now I require Lite.
Seemingly my PC is not my property. Having a difficulty in grasping the power of Lite.
Require push to trim my v1607, my last properly tagged MediaCreation successful download from MS. Now all MediaCreation (regardless how it is tagged) pushes a "Windows.iso", v21H2 on install. Tried again with same tagged v1607 MediaCreation - push to 21H1, MS doesn't stop, relentless. I would like to work on v1607, this version is plenty. Using machine for a Cad/Cam role. If a machine capable of an FEA analysis, to me, this is a pass. I use TeamViewer/GoTo Meeting once a month.
. Keep all hardware/driver
. If possible keep hardware detect then manual install - i.e. detect thunderbolt then install from OEM
. Cannot believe this a Microsoft responsibility. Is a software developer responsibility, you need DX12/H.264 supply it.
. Remove all Microsoft
. Remove/delete Update - install updates manually
. Remove/delete Search + Cortana - use Explorer
. Remove/delete Settings - use Control Panel
. Settings at Start is useless
. Remove/delete Defender - gone
. Remove all Applications/Features not relevant to Core
. I tried however "Xbox/Cortana/Defender blah blah lurks"
I believe Lite requiring a certain sequential for a successful Remove/Delete. Having trouble understanding if a disabled instance same as Remove/delete.
Have you folks checked out Windows 10 AME? This dude completely goes to town. I tried AME scripts not intended for v1607, it did rip Update - some errors echoed. I do not have later versions, tried Microsoft - nothing. I don't know about downloading OS image from third party, use what I have. Hoping Lite could provide same.
This is not an operating system. Microsoft determined to involve itself in my life. Not into a Microsoft lifestyle. I should be drinking with software developers finding a solution to The Microsoft Dilemma. When speaking with MS mentioned "is this legal?", "you're dropping in on my BIOS?". I think a class action required here.
Kindly advise.
