Doubt about .NET Framework 4.8.1 Update

hi. NTLite offers KB5017025 .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 Cumulative Update and also 4.8 (does not allow to select both)
Should I have to integrate 4.8 first and then integrate 4.8.1 or can I directly integrate 4.8.1, without the need to integrate 4.8?
thanks

hi,

.Net 4.8.1 update requires .Net 4.8.1 on the image.
After adding .Net 4.8.1 installer on the update list, it will be much clearer picture.
For now I would recommend manually:
- download .NET 4.8.1 offline installer, open with 7zip and extract x64-Windows10.0-KB5011048-x64.cab from it.
- add that CAB file to the Updates page, together with that .Net 4.8.1 update and integrate

Let me know if all works as expected.

Thank you for your proposal. It is very valid and I appreciate it, but it doesn't fully answer my question as it is talking about an external procedure and my question is exclusively about integrations with NTlite.
I'll try to reformulate it again.
What do you recommend:
1. Integrate to w10 21h2 original ISO: KB5017308 + KB5017025
either
2. Integrate to w10 21h2 original ISO: KB5017308 + KB5017022

thanks

Sir, I disagree :)
Let me repeat parts where is the recommendation:

.Net 4.8.1 update requires .Net 4.8.1 on the image.

In other words no mixing, either just integrate 4.8 update, or 4.8.1 installer (CAB) + 4.8.1 update.

Every version of .NET Framework is a separate product. You can't upgrade 4.8 to get 4.8.1.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

If I don’t upgrade to .NET Framework 4.8.1 will anything change for how I receive Windows or .NET Framework updates?
  • No. Updates for previous versions of .NET Framework and for Windows operating systems components remain the same.

Windows can have multiple versions of .NET installed simultaneously. While it's possible to have 4.8.1, 4.8, 4.7.2, 4.7.1, 4.7, 4.6.2 and 3.5 installed on the same system -- MS recommends installing the latest 4.x (4.8.1), and keep 3.5 for compatibility.

When integrating to my original ISO win 10 (original Win10_21H2_Spanish_x64.iso) KB5017308 + KB5017022, the following problems appear attached
the cause is corrupt updates or something else?
versions: Windows 10 home, home sl and pro
thanks

Please include your preset, not just the NTLite.log.

From NTLite.log, you're applying:
KB5017022 - Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8
KB5017025 - Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1
KB5017308 - Sep 2022 CU

You're not understanding our answers correctly. W10 ships with .NET 4.8, and .NET 4.8.1 is an optional framework.
The official .NET packages cannot be integrated into an image, but can only be installed in Post-Setup.

Because 4.8 is included with W10, 4.8 updates can be installed.

Because 4.8.1 isn't included on W10, 4.8.1 updates cannot be installed. If you sysprepped a Windows image which had 4.8.1 installed, then the captured image could have 4.8.1 updates applied to it.

At this point, 4.8.1 is new (Aug 2022) and no apps require it installed. I doubt MS will make it part of W10 22H2 or W11 22H2 releases.

I understood what you're saying, but maybe you didn't read that I'm using an original ISO "with no integrations". I also do not understand at this point why NTlite offers this additional 4.8.1 integration to the original ISO that can cause this confusion.
It is rhetoric. you don't have to answer
Anyway, i will integrate Cumulative update + .Net Framework 3.5 and 4.8 Cumulative update and discard Net Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 Cumulative update integration with NTlite

Not all downloads are there for for image integration.

Some users prefer NTLite to download & install their monthly updates, instead of using WU. For them, the optional updates are listed for convenience but not checked. Did you pay attention?

I don't know whether to open a new thread or this one. But this error persists. Thanks

Checking NTLite's updates list, it's offering the non-DCU version of KB5017308. The DCU version should work too.

As garlin suggested, please delete

(or go to File - Settings - Trim update cache option)
and redownload the same update as usual from the tool, it has the correct one now.
