Getting error: "VLC appears to be running and will now be closed."

This message in the post title appears when installing VLC Media. I tried installing it in silent mode both post-login and pre-login, but nothing happened.

Has anyone else experienced this with NTLite?

Nope - don't use VLC, but are you sure you're using the right switches as i can translate it to, it won't close?

Or just use "the older version of Windows Media Player" as it's working fine with LAVfilters and CodecTweaktool if want to circumvent Windows Media Foundation, e.g. for MKVs.
And same time WMP support WMC or buy a flatscreen and a HDMI stick.

Thanks to everyone who answered me here, but I really don't want to change VLC for another one and I don't want to use the laptop, I really want to keep VLC and try to install it.

I also install on all my versions optimized with NTLite (W10, W11 and W1124H2) with these options:

vlc-3.0.21-win64.exe /L=1040 /S

where, clearly /L=1040 is the Italian language

I've tried that too, my friend, but it doesn't work.

It's something with some configuration of my ISO project, because it doesn't even install outside of NLIte.

I disabled the antivirus and still nothing.

Can you try SMPlayer just to see if any other player works. That will help out a lot on figuring this out.

I have already installed other media players, including all those that were recommended to me.

Installing VLC from the Microsoft store installs normally, but using the official website installer does not.

Keep Windows Media Foundation as it's needed for "outside" mediaplayers - even they got they own "promized" codecs.

Even if you disable Windows Media Player and Media Playback from Features on Demand, VLC 3.0.21 installs and runs.
On the free edition, you can't remove any more media components.
