To work on different Features on Demand capabilities or normal components, NTLite depends on DISM to remove or update WinSxS files. Some component removals or compatibility issues will require NTLite to manually remove or keep files.
WinSxS folders and files can be edited by anyone with Administrator privileges. Some items are protected by TrustedInstaller rights, but you can use tools like PowerRun to get around those permissions.
Unless you're an expert on WinSxS, it's best to not touch the folder and allow NTLite to safely make changes. The wrong edits can break your Windows image.
