How to enable notifications for when qBittorrent download is complete?

I have version 4.5.2 on my computer and I'm wondering how to get notifications when a download is complete. When I download a torrent, it will just finish eventually but not display any notification in the corner letting me know that it's finished. When I first used qBittorrent a couple years ago, it did have those notifications but now it doesn't seem to want to show them for some reason. I went into Settings > Advanced, and I found the option that said "Display notifications" to be already checked, so I don't know what to do.

If someone could let me know how to actually do this I would greatly appreciate it!

Could be a number of things causing it. This is what I would check first:

1) Start > Settings > System > Notifications & actions > Get notifications from apps and other senders > On
2) Start > Settings > System > Focus assist > Off
3) Start > Settings > Privacy > Notifications > On
4) Start > Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Show badges on taskbar buttons > On
5) You removed components with NTLite and/or added some tweaks that break notifications on a deeper level.

This is more of a Qbittorrent question than NTLite, It could be that you have focus assist enabled, so it won't show the notifications. Sometimes Qbittorrent does notify, other times it doesnt. I would recommend, if this is just a Qbittorrent issue, you take it up with them.

If I have to contact qBittorrent then do you happen to know their email or telephone number by any chance? I would greatly appreciate that information so I could get to it and start fixing this problem so I can see the notifications the same way I used to on this device.

Have you tried qBittorrent official forums? But I doubt they'll have a specific fix.

As originally suggested, check if your preset or Post-Setup tweaks changed any notification settings. If it's broken, it will be for all apps that send notifications -- not just qBittorrent. Try attaching your preset for review (after removing any user password or license keys).

The only other way is to manually do it, by clicking the cog, going to advanced and ticking the 'display notifications' box ( as of version 4.5.3 )

Go to Options -> Behavior and make sure "Show qBittorrent in notification area" is checked. Although it shouldn't be related if you disable this the notifications stop.

I did try it and unfortunately I wasn't able to sign into an account since the security captcha wasn't working or something like that. I could always check again to see if it works this time. I checked all the settings that Hellbovine told me to look at and it I changed all of them. I did factory reset my computer however and the settings might have been changed back. Let me know if I should do anything about that.

There are no other apps on my computer that send notifications but that is only because I just don't have them on my device. So I really have no way of knowing whether this is a problem with qBittorrent or my computer. I could download software that would show notifications as a test if you think that would be wise.

Also, what do you mean attaching my preset for review?

I went to those options and saw that "Display notifications" has already been ticked.

This point, you should attach your preset (after removing any user passwords or license key) to see what's been edited.

So this is a problem on your Windows. Several things can cause this.

Make sure Windows Push Notifications User Service (WpnUserService) is not removed and is set to Automatic.

Check these 2 mentioned by Hellbovine (only these 2 are essential, the others are optional or depend on the app but not necessary for qBittorrent):
1) Start > Settings > System > Notifications & actions > Get notifications from apps and other senders > On
2) Start > Settings > System > Focus assist > Off

Go to Settings > System > Notifications & actions scroll to the bottom and make sure that qBittorrent appears there and is enabled.

But it's best to know what you've removed or disabled and what tweaks you've used. Post your preset that you used with NTLite as already mentioned.

An alternative is to use the old Windows notification method (balloon notifications).

Go to NTLite in Settings > Explorer > Ballon notifications (Legacy) and leave it as Enabled. I use it :)

Or use this reg tweak (I think it's necessary to restart explorer.exe or restart Windows):
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer]
"EnableLegacyBalloonNotifications"=dword:00000001

How do I check Windows Push Notifications to make sure that it's not removed and all that? I searched for push notifications on my computer using the start menu, and also typed "WpnUserService" in after hitting Windows Key + R.

Also what is NTLite exactly, and how do I check the preset so I can post it here? I tried searching for NTLite both in settings and in the start menu.

I'd also like to know how to potentially switch to the old Windows notifications if that would be the best choice.

I also went into the Registry Editor and searched for the directory you told me to look for, and I went as far as finding the one named "Windows", but I could not find "Explorer" underneath.

Type services.msc instead

lol are you on an NTLite forum and don't know what that is? If you didn't use NTLite on your Windows then probably the Windows Push Notifications User Service is present, it remains to be seen if it's running and on Automatic.

If the Explorer "directory" doesn't exist you have to create it. The name of this is key.

Right click on the Windows "directory" go to New > Key and type Explorer. Then right click in Explorer or in the white space on the right, go to New > DWORD (32-bit) Value. Type EnableLegacyBalloonNotifications and press Enter. Then click 2 times type 1 and click OK.

Or copy this below into a text editor (notepad could be) and save it with the .reg extension (Example: EnableBalloonNotifications.reg) and double click on the file.

Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer]
"EnableLegacyBalloonNotifications"=dword:00000001

Seriously? This site is named NTLite Forums, not "random Windows" forum. If you're not using NTLite program to customize your Windows, then you're asking questions which can be equally answered on sites like TenForums or ElevenForum.

Sometimes it's too difficult to troubleshoot something because we just don't know all the miscellaneous tweaks someone has done. There are so many cases of people installing a random optimization script they downloaded and then forgot they did that, or they manually messed with settings and broke something, or some form of file corruption or viruses are on the computer, etcetera.

Save yourself a ton of time and headache and simply download a clean ISO straight from Microsoft and reinstall Windows. This is the solution that fixes just about everything, unless your problems are stemming from a bug in Windows, a driver, or bios.

Check out these beginner guides on how to do this if you don't know the steps:
1) Guide: NTLite for Beginners (link)
2) Guide: Installing Windows (link)

Also, click the "Home" button on this website's menu bar at the top to learn about NTLite.

And 99.9% don't even open the script to see what it does, they just blindly run it without knowing the consequences.

From what I've noticed most optimization scripts disable push notifications and AutoPlay and this is useful for some people, in addition to disabling Device Setup Manager service which is needed for "Safely Remove Hardware" icon on the taskbar.

It's not always useful to deactivate everything you see ahead, it depends on your preferences.
