I can't detect any networks. Stuck offline.

I just got a new laptop delivered today which I just tried installing
with a modified Windows 10 LTSC 2019. I wasn't able to get it working when I applied it
with a preset so I just stuck for the vanilla ISO, albeit installed with new updates.

It worked fine except, for whatever reason, I was unable to detect any networks to connect to
so my laptop is stuck offline.

So I decided to just install the vanilla ISO, with nothing added or removed,
but I still wasn't able to connect online!

Is it a problem with the wi-fi card?
I booted a Linux distro to check and I could connect to the internet just fine.

So I wonder if anyone can tell me what the problem is.
Again, I'm using Windows 10 LTSC 2019.
I burnt the image to a 8GB PNY USB 2.0 stick, using Rufus.

Thanks.

Okay, it's an AMD Laptop.
Specifically, an ASUS ROG Strix G17 G713-QM with a Ryzen R95900HX CPU.

I think I heard of SDI when I researched the Windows 10 Ameliorated project.

Ethernet? No, I haven't.
Although it's not quite practical for me because my office doesn't have an ethernet port
and the only accessible router is in my parents' office next door which they use very often.

Anyway, I'm downloading the full version of SDI so I can use it offline and will try it out next time.

just open device manager, look for your wifi card. take the device ID and search it on google to get the driver. its what you should do in every computer if can't find the driver

Under Network Adapters, right?
All I found are just a series of "WAN Miniports".
The Wi-FI card is missing but, like I said, it connected online fine on Linux.
I even opened the laptop and found the card itself still intact and plugged in.

if you can't see a problematic driver than you did not even install amd chipset, your motherboard can't see if there is a wifi card not working properly. you could install chipset to see what is not working or just install the wifi driver. for wifi driver there are multiple solutions;

install linux or boot onto PE version of one, and look for your wifi card's name so you can download that driver. or use a offline driver pack.... or connect LAN and use online driver pack. so many solutions you could solve this in under 10 minutes

Guess what?
I looked through the drivers on my ISO on NTLite and I realised that, although I imported my new laptops hardware list, it showed a number of drivers that were missing, including the Wi-Fi driver!

Whoops!
I should've made a Windows 10 ISO on that laptop, with all its drivers intact, before I had the smart idea of wiping the stock operating system from its hard drive. *slamming my head against the wall*

Thankfully, Snappy Driver Installer fixed all that. From the full version I torrented, I extracted every driver into the working ISO (then removed all those unused) and poof! All done!

Now I'm just creating the ISO and will test it soon.
Fingers crossed and saying my prayers!

i never integrate drivers and remove unused ones during OOBE... its stupid to have unnecessary or outdated drivers in my iso or live system

Good news. I created and installed the ISO and it worked!

Bad news. Still can't connect to the internet although I found my Wi-Fi adapter in the Network Connections menu and Device Manager but I can't enable it. Reinstalling the driver doesn't fix it and neither does resetting the winsock.

And there any services that ought to be enabled which the preset disabled like WLAN Autoconfig?

Thanks. 'Working on it.

The Windows Connect Now - Config Registrar and Base Filtering Engine services are disabled.
Any idea by what settings?

Also, what about the Windows Connection Manager? Don't I need that?

No. I mean, they are clearly disabled in the Services menu by any Features and Components that have also been disabled by the preset I'm using so I need to know which ones to re-enable so I can change those services.

So you're using Windows 7?
I am using Windows 10, just so we're on the same page.

Well, I re-enabled all the components and features and it's not affecting the Base Filtering Engine although its set to Automatic anyway so maybe it's all good anyway.

I did manage to turn on the Windows Connect Now Registrar so along with everything else so I'm gonna test it once more.

Seriously, thanks for the help.

It seems your preset is really stupidly configured. stop wasting our time if you don't even share your preset. i thought you had problems with even vanilla iso. its all your fault then. have fun

I AM grateful for your help.
I'm sorry for that earlier comment I made. I had no idea you'd take it that personally.
So I just deleted it as soon as I posted this reply.

Alright?
