Reset Base Question

These days is it safe to use reset base cleanup or component cleanup ? What are those features will break when we use reset base cleanup and for non reset base cleanup??

I'm planning to use it on windows 11 23H2 and I need to know first their cons and advantages thanks

DISM Compatible & DISM ResetBase cleanup both remove superseded component files, shrinking the image.

W8 and later Windows releases allow ResetBase which "collapses" the updates so you cannot uninstall them. The last version of a component permanently becomes the new base version (resets the base).

When you have a live system, the option to roll back a bad update is very important.
When you're doing a clean install, there isn't a need to roll back since you would replace bad images with a newer one.

Windows will continue to service (update) both types of cleaned images.
