Suggestion: Add a ban on edge update processes
Manual prohibition is too cumbersome and prone to omission
thank you

Too cumbersome to remove Edge Update component, and disable Settings / Tasks (UScheduler) / EdgeUpdate?

forget it. I don't want to delete edge updates because it's irreversible. Let me find another way.

Thank you very much, let me try it using a virtual machine. Before that, I replaced MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe with an empty file without removing the update component completely, and edge update didn't breathe, which seems to be a good way to go. It's best to leave the files and registry untouched as they are not reversible. In any case, as long as it can be banned any method is best.

Replacing a Windows executable with a dummy file isn't permanent, because SFC repair will restore the original.

abbodi's hack is safe by overriding the endpoint's DNS names, so new updates are never found.
