Which Xbox components needed for Forza 4 and Forza 5 Steam versions?

Niether Forza 4 nor Forza 5 Steam versions work on my PC. They both produce Xbox-related error message when launched because I remove all Xbox and Game Explorer components with NTLite. Does anyone know for sure which Xbox and other components have to be present for Forza 4 and Forza 5 to work?

I had similar problem with forza 4/5 steam, as Garlin said, xbox core, passport, and also edge webview2. - it only fixed forza 5 for me though, 4 launching but not working in my case.

Forza on Steam requires an Xbox Live logon to play.
I don't have these games on steam to test but maybe Steam uses some api or something and not the Xbox app directly. Otherwise the game probably won't work in LTSC. This wouldn't surprise me since most companies don't support LTSC. Many gamers were upset lol

These services are removed with 'Xbox - Core'. Wouldn't they be enough? I say in theory, in practice this needs to be tested.

Why wouldn't Xbox work on LTSC? EDU & Enterprise are basically the same as Pro, except for a handful of different features and default GPO lockdown settings. The common cheat to run Store on LTSC is just run "wsreset -i".

the only way i got xbox to work on ltsc was by enabling store, then any steam game i had that needed either xbox or live, had to go through the store

Ah, I forgot that there are people who commit the heresy of installing the Store in LTSC :p

I meant that it doesn't work out of the box or officially since Microsoft doesn't support the use of the Store or any feature that changes frequently in LTSC (remember that Cortana was disabled in LTSC?).

So my reasoning is that if Microsoft keeps the services related to Xbox Live in LTSC but doesn't keep the apps it's probably because it's possible to authenticate with Xbox Live without needing the apps. But I'm just speculating. Microsoft doesn't always do things that make sense.

LIke putting silly home type glitz n schmitz in Pro and Ent editions .

makes sense to me if you want an OS that is updated for more than 2/3 years, not everyone wants a new OS every 5 minutes.

Like Candy Crush? lol

For me it doesn't make much sense because at some point using the Store you will be forced to update the OS because some app will require it.

Other than that, I saw several reports of the Store stopping working in LTSC because the app package was very old and strangely in LTSC the Store could not update itself while in Pro and Enterprise there were no problems. The solution in LTSC was to manually install a set of newer packages until they stopped working again lol I don't know if this has been resolved.

candy crush? grrrrrrrrrrrr. although its a bit cranky i still use xp spider solitaire on occasion but thats it.

Yes, Sync Host is gone, but I don't get any errors, the exe stays opens in task manager.
Were you able to authenticate with Xbox Live or did the option not appear?

When you add your Microsoft account in the Store without having a Microsoft account in Windows, if I remember correctly it appears here:

This page in Settings is removed when removing Sync Host. This may be necessary then for Xbox Live. Also try to keep the Xbox packages mentioned by garlin.

'Microsoft Passport' may be required as well. Basically anything needed for Store can be needed for Xbox Live I guess.

This is why I don't like the Store or UWP apps, so many things need to be maintained and running in the background for this ecosystem to work.

Passport is required for everything MS Account, since it'a single sign-on for all services (Windows Store, Xbox, OneDrive, Teams, Skype, O365).

No, nothing appears. the .exe opens but nothing is launching.
Although, in forza5(steam) case, it uses webview2 to login into your account.

Yes, on clean ltsc install my xbox live account appear there without the store, it seems forza4 takes the info of the account from there.
