Discussion: NVIDIA Display Driver (nvlddmkm.sys) DPC Latency

I'll try both these tomorrow and report back, I've got to head to bed for now. I agree, Windows is overly aggressive with it's power saving and illusive with any options to disable power saving features. I have a desktop PC and solar power, I don't need any power saving XD I worry more about...

Discussion: NVIDIA Display Driver (nvlddmkm.sys) DPC Latency

Well, I tried disabling my network device and allowing my HDD to spin down again. Immediate issues with nvlddmkm.sys DPC in the thousands, so no change there. Once the HDD had spun down and I went to use it, so it had to spin up again, well... So unfortunately, no change to either. Back to...

Negative, Desktop PC. Definitely has something to do with the powering down / spinning up my one HDD, since making it stay powered on all the time stopped ACPI.sys causing any issues. To remedy ACPI.sys or nvlddmkm.sys? It's no real effort to disable my network device (on-board LAN) and see if...

Discussion: NVIDIA Display Driver (nvlddmkm.sys) DPC Latency

Yep yep, sure was, formatted every SSD and did a pure clean install of windows 11. Only the HDD was left as-is because it's used as general storage (pictures, videos, music, etc). The SSD's are used for OS, programs, and games.

What are you wanting pictures of? With and without HPET disabled in the device manager? Both give DPC in the thousands from nvlddmkm.sys. No where near as bad as what I was getting from ACPI.sys though... I resolved ACPI.sys by disallowing HDD's from powering down in the Windows Power Options...

My BIOS doesn't have any setting for disabling HPET, it's always enabled. Disabling or allowing it in the device manager makes zero difference for me. Was a good idea though :c

Damn, I followed exactly all those steps and still get nvlddmkm.sys DPC latency in the thousands

Discussion: NVIDIA Display Driver (nvlddmkm.sys) DPC Latency

I've tried a variety of combinations. Running LatMon right after a reboot, hours into PC use, hours into PC idle, and days into PC use. None show any differences for me, I consistently get DPC latency in the thousands from nvlddmkm.sys. It does manifest in the form of audio pops/stutters, as...

Discussion: NVIDIA Display Driver (nvlddmkm.sys) DPC Latency

I'm using nvidia's latest, 517.48, that came out on September 27th. It was the same for me on the last two driver versions too, and was the same on 21H2 and 22H2. I literally did a fresh install of Win11 22H2 rather than upgrading to try and eliminate this issue, but nope, it persists. Within...

Oh, mine makes it into the thousands (>3000) if I have the power mode set to normal. Maximum Performance globally gets me down to the hundreds, but even that stills seems high. How has nvidia not fixed this if it's been an issue for years?! smh

Discussion: NVIDIA Display Driver (nvlddmkm.sys) DPC Latency

This, so much this. I'm also ATTEMPTING to find a resolution from Nvidia but they just keep having me to perform troubleshooting tasks I've already performed on my own. They had the audacity to tell me, and I quote; "From the information provided, I see that the BIOS running on the device is...
