Clangers Presets - Closed

The preset not applying to all WIM's correctly seems to be another.

This is correct:
Just for clearing up what boxes I tick in My NTLITE Win7 Nov 2017 iso folder.
See picture.

Seems correct?

No errors did pop up.
Yes. I closed all other games.
This Games glitch seems to be a thing when doing bigger removals of System components like Wmp and IE etc.

Let me know if you need some additional info about the ISO I'm using to do my x64 Aio.
Upload the preset, i'd like to give it a try.
I'm trying mines for x86 but, as i have one that almost fits perfect, i tried to remove any other component and a BSOD with code 0x7b comes up on first reboot.

There are updates that doesn't exists in Ms catalog and need to be installed before some drivers, i hope i can integrate these updates with all requested by Windows Update.

Preset Attatched. For reference, I'm using this slipstreamed 64bit ISO http://dellwindowsreinstallationgui...reinstallation-dvd-into-a-reinstallation-usb/ So maybe this helps to see what I'm seeing.

I have found that any removal of anything that touches Features breaks Features - esp w/ 5885. Even though it doesn't seem like it should. Hopefully nuhi is figuring out why.

Well, i have many removals that are features and a couple more features disabled without issues.

I don't have any idea why there is an urlmon.dll error, i haven't had any after mixing Clanger's and mine presets. There is no error on setup, not even installing Office 2007 with some updates at a so small resolution (800 x 600).

First attached screenshot with minesweeper and used 2.91 GB (7 x86).
Free Cell
Mah Jong
Minesweeper
Purble Place
Solitaire
Solitaire Spider

The only game that doesn't open, is Chess

Second attached screenshot with Game Explorer, Games, Games Premium and Clanger's Fonts and Drivers selected removed, using 2.15 GB (7 x86)..
I have installed Office 2007 in the smallest Windows setup, no problem.

I'm working with last year's beta build.

2.15gb, nice. I used my custom font list and kept ms office required stuff(as long as it was mentioned in notes). I also keep some fonts as standard on my custom list because of an issue fishingfish found and he had a hell of a time tracking them little buggers down. :)

I probably wasn't clear. By "breaks Features," I meant that I get an error when I try to remove something from Features that I didn't remove via NTLite on a pre-build. (As I thinkabout it now, it might be that Features doesn't break as easily if I remove Feature related items from a live install. Seems like Win7 has sorted things out (and perhaps locked them) by that time.)

I have to start all over again with x64

All my tests are x86, doesn't make too much sense to me, to remove almost everything in x64 as this is recommended for systems with 4 GB RAM or more and, reading some early posts, nuhi says he is going to fix urlmon.dll error in x64.

Yes. I start w/ the SP1 iso integrated w/ the Rollup. (And an mp4 update.) Four KB's. Then I use that as a base to add RAID and shrink.

When I built on your Advanced preset, and added urlmon.dll & scmapi (?), everything worked okay (AFAIK). It was just sfc /scannow that failed that got me leaving IE in on the next try. And that led to me to see that Features didn't work.

The Features thing isn't a big deal. I've been running my daily Win7 with Features Sealed for almost a year now without problems. (AFAIK.) But again, I did that live, which seems to make a difference.

You used the same ntlite build to do everything because using different builds especicially using the old and new engines could give problems.

Oh, I misunderstood your initial question. I am using 5855 now to shrink. I used 5840 to do the Rollup. Is there that much difference between that part of NTLite (DISM?) between point builds?

If there was unseen issues with the 5840 build it could affect work with 5855 so i would use 1 build only to do the whole lot. It would be easier when hunting down problems. I would wait for the next build.

Its why i use a set set of updates, cuts down on any variables., and test new updates by adding them one by one on a test install, you soon spot a borked one.

Yeah, you're a lot more patient that I am. (Difference between men and women?) That's why I thought that a threadripper with 20 VM's running would be a good way to test NTLite. Could just mechanically remove items one a time, 20 in a batch, to see what works and what doesn't.

But since you've done the hard work, I'm content to start with your Advanced Preset.

Advanced preset was easy. The real bitch was the barebones presets because once i get to the Advanced preset level, then you literally have to test removals 1 component at a time, or 4max in a group, but i prefer 1. That means a shitload of builds/test installs/live removals and i destroyed a hdd doing that.

Actually the Advanced preset was hard because i had to ignore barebone and carefully select what most users may want and most would be happy with 2.9GB installed. :) The more you strip out the less dependancy issues you have. But once its set, ITS SET.

So what is the solution in the meanwhile?
What version of NTLite should I use then? And where do I get older ones?
Meaning what version does not have the urlmon.dll and components / features / preset adding to all WIMs for AIO disc issues?
