How do you get 1.2 gb in W7 while i only get 2.5-2.8gb with a seriously barebone W10 preset.
Insane.

I know, its frustrating isnt it. W10 is a different beast and has lots more stuff that cant be removed, .net core for example. I think someone has got w10 down to 1.7gb. I estimate a bareboned w10 will always be at least 500mb bigger than i can get with w7. I may be able to get 7 down to 1gb maybe a bit less.

Question is how though.
You could even remove Wow64 @nuhi

Wow64 and the 2 servicing stack parts woulld help but many x64 stuff still has poxy 32bit installers and parts. Although getting the smallest is bloody addictive its about getting as small as possible while retaining as much usability as possible and rock solid stability. 1.2gb for w7 is good enough.

Its an ok preset because many like w10s store and apps etc and i had to keep it similar in nature to w7 stage 2 while allowing for the differences. I dont use w10 pro anyway.

Just load ltsb 2106 and run the preset. I estimate ltsb shrunk with stage 2 to be around 1GB less than Pro.

My w10 barebone V1 was around 2.2 to 2.5gb installed(if i remember correctly). It was version 1 and was a good attempt whereas the w7 barebone(whatever the latest version is) had had a lot of development and in its first version was also around 2.5gb installed. Preset development is dependant NTLite development.

Eh? what do you mean? Besides, You NO Risten, Kasual is doing the presets now. Anyway, w7 and w10 bareboned are already suitable enough for audio and video production work, see replies to pmikep's comments in this topic.

I'm getting 0x8007045D when using your advanced xml on enterprise win 7 64 (december 2017)

Banko, I gave the February ETA, not Kasual. 1 month for me to build it then 4 weeks for Kas to modify for 1709, but that depends on his workload. In the mean time, load 1607 instead so you get the general idea, Stage 2 is very similar to what i have been using for years with xp+nlite. Its called Advanced but it aint rocket science.

denywinarto, thats a bug not a problem with the preset itself, unless you modified it in some way. Post and include the session file in Questions and Suggestions.
