problem with default program configuration on win10 1703

In the meantime let me ask if you sandbox your browsers in any way?
 
Try to keep Isolated User mode and Smart screen, if that does not works, upload your new preset.
 
I have bad and good news:

The bad news:
You have to keep 'Internet Explorer 11'

The good news:
You can disable 'Internet Explorer 11' in Features tab in NTLite and the problem is gone.

This behavior is reported to nuhi with more details.
 
Build 5675 solves the Edge removal messing up the Default Browser setup.

lol, that slipped from the radar for a "few minutes".

Anecdotally, setting default apps works with my very lite preset, so this must be something rarer than usual.
Let me know if you do anything else, like your personal tweaks after it, or it's 100% pure NTLite that causes it.

OK, so I tried:
- 1803 updated, NTLite latest
- your exact preset, including the REG file
- installed in VMWare.
- installed Firefox, otherwise you won't get it on the browser selection for the default app
- answer positively on its popup to make it default, when it opened settings, selected Firefox under Browser

Seems to work, unless I need to do anything else?
