Reinstall Windows and retain NTLite activation

Unfortunately I am -2 activations after writing to support. Not sure what I do wrong. What kind of HW changes would trigger a reactivation because it doesn’t recognize the same machine?

Driver changes don't trigger re-activation. The normal HWID's are CPU, motherboard, NIC (which is normally tied to motherboard), and system drive. It's been mentioned that some types of BIOS updates will change the reporting.

Hi,

i wan´t to reacitvate my NTLite but the Method on previous Site won´t work.

I have installed 2024 Version and copied my license.dat to the NTlite Directory.

After starting NTLite ask me for the Serial and then i have to acitvate it again (this reduces my Activation Limit)

Any Ideas ?

For activation, you need to save the License.dat and settings.xml files
NTLite is activated automatically (if no HWs change)

If you kept the setting.xml file, copy it to the NTLite directory

I have only the license.dat , settings.xml is only for the settings i think not for the activation

Then something in your hw config changed - ie. another drive/ partition and still on 23H2 for testing 24H2?

Setting.xml is also necessary, the key (encrypted) is also "informed" in this file, from memory
These 2 files have been kept for years and I no longer pay attention to the activation

Without this file, you must reactivate NTLite I think but not sure

EDIT: I just tested and setting.xml is mandatory to "save" the license
