What are these new Settings (Scheduled Tasks)

i know what works for me and that it wont work for 99.999% of other users. its up to them to take what i post and adapt to their needs and test test test. i dont need a lot of this modern online crap and all the glitz and schmitz and could quite happily use xp. i can use debian live to do the limited online stuff i need.

Certainly you didn't expect a newer M$ version to be smaller!! ;) Then you'd miss out on all of those improvements - like Hello Kitty & fullscreen commercials on your desktop!

Not trying to bring back an old thread, but I do wonder if anyone has found more info on the other listed tasks, namely TFLUpdate, MACUpdate, IA and LXP.

Been searching all over for information. So far, LXP seems to update language packs post-install? MACUpdate is for updating info when remoting into an Apple device? I have nothing on the other two.

LXP is for updating Language Experience Packs or LIP's. LIP's are an alternative to Language Packs, but implemented as Appx packages.

The advantage is they can be installed (or removed) at any time, without worrying if you installed them in the correct order (as opposed to LP's). Their disadvantage is they don't completely replace the original language text in all places.

Other than DevHome or Outlook, I wouldn't worry about the other tasks. They're probably for normal Windows overhead.

What version of windows are you seeing this in?

Those tasks are specific to W11, more of them appear in each successive release.
