Windows 11

What do you guys think about AtlasOS and CTT (Mod Packs) ? They both seems to reduce processes and tweak the latency etc to increase fps and overall performance. But doesn't look like its %100 safe probably they will break some functions on computer that you won't realise untill you need it. I would like to get into them and get the logical ones out to implement in my iso, also do you guys know anythink similar to them? they look a bit professional not like others out there.

Must be out of my wheel house because I have never heard of anything called Sudo before. Did some reading on it and it just seems like a fancy word lol

We actually have some sudo implementation on windows to grant trusted installer and admin privilages. called minsudo on github i always use it to import some reg files to protected places

I looked at Atlas before about a few months ago. Interesting concept they have there on the YouTube video I saw online. Have not tried it though.

However I still enjoy having others do things like this because it makes us all better as users on how far we can take a bloated windows os without losing vital systems.

You can finally hide the Windows Backup App, if you've installed the Jan 2024 Monthly Preview (or Feb 2024 Monthly Update).

But only on one condition: You can't use Microsoft Account for OneDrive, Skype, Teams, Office 365, Xbox Games or purchased Store apps.
Sorry this trick only works because a restricted GPO will exclude local accounts from Windows Backup:
Windows Backup is a system component and cannot be removed. A Windows update that prevents Windows Backup from appearing on certain user interface (UI) screens for certain editions of Windows 10 and Windows 11 has been released. This update prevents Windows Backup from appearing in the “All apps” and “Installed apps” lists for Enterprise users, domain-joined users, guest users, and users whose Microsoft accounts have been restricted by policy. When you install a Windows security update that was released on or after January 25, 2024, the Windows Backup app does not appear on an Enterprise-managed device.

Create a new policy restriction to block MSA logons:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\MicrosoftAccount]
"DisableUserAuth"=dword:00000001

The "no hack" answer is pretend you're a Work or School Account, select Other sign-in method, and type any User Account name.
Works on any new PC. Doesn't require you memorizing some fake e-mail address BS.

Here's an interesting tip for Action Center:
Am I the only one who didn't like action center? I just want my taskbar icons and anything else hidden behind settings.

I understand why it would be easier for users but things are easy enough that users are becoming less and less knowledgeable about what to do.

Miss those days when you bought a computer and you got a lesson on how to use it lol

Can I take application identity service?
Is App Locker important for just 1 PC user? Will there be a drop in performance or an improvement if you remove it?

Application Identity Service is only used by AppLocker. If you're not an Administrator who wants to block normal users from running specific programs, then it's unnecessary. No harm will come from removing it, but you won't see much performance help.
