NTLite v2.3.8.8889 doesn't fully remove Edge, unlike .8850

I'm using all available compatibility filters in components section and I was able to successfully remove Edge's Appx in the previous release (v2.3.7.8850). However, after updating to v2.3.8.8889 I get Edge on my desktop after installing Windows from my custom ISO (Hyper-V).

Registry keys inside HKEY_CURRENT_USER namespace are not (always) being integrated

I've noticed that certain registry keys for HKEY_CURRENT_USER aren't being integrated at all when the file .reg file is added in Integrate > Registry. Here's a example for Windows 11 (22H1): Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 ; Remove default pinned objects in quick settings...

Component removal: DISM vs DISM + Custom

NTLite just introduced a new feature in v2.3.8.8889: Is there actually a greater risk of breaking Windows Update with DISM + Custom option?

Windows 11 latest driver/HW list repository?

I've solved the issue which I've encountered with missing drivers - performing certain updates on boot.wim & winre.wim makes drivers go missing. The solution is to not update the installation media but rather just the operating system. Here's a related issue from 2015 (although in my case...

Windows 11 latest driver/HW list repository?

My host computer (which compiles Windows via NTLite) is running a heavily modified Windows 11 which has all Hyper-V related features removed (meaning components/drivers). Because of this, my separate computer which runs on a OEM installation of Windows 11 can't find HDD drivers in Hyper-V during...

[Solved] NTLite - How to apply HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry tweaks post installation?

I've already tried that if you check #2 comment :) However, I just tried again with updated NTLite (2.3.0.8396 -> 2.3.1.8454) and I've used the updated base ISO (Win11_English_x64 -> Win11_English_x64v1) from Microsoft and it looks like HKEY_CURRENT_USER works as expected now in registry tab...

    General performance optimizations

I figured I'll make a rundown of my personal performance tips since slaver01 asked me what tweaks I'd recommend for a Ryzen build. Feel free to correct me or share your recommendations if I've missed anything! General tips Windows 10+: Use Ultimate Performance Plan (powercfg /setactive...

Optimize compilation time by utilizing all available threads

That's interesting, I looked around in the settings file and UI but I wasn't able to find it. Maybe you're thinking about Multi Instance Mode in NTLite (however, this mode just allows you to run multiple instances of NTLite)?

Optimize compilation time by utilizing all available threads

I'm not sure but I'm guessing that your selection is saved somewhere in settings.xml or settingsUI.xml under C:\Program Files\NTLite Maybe try this? <SkipCompletedPopup>false</SkipCompletedPopup>

Optimize compilation time by utilizing all available threads

I've recently upgraded my hardware from a i7-4770k @ 5.1GHz OC (4c/8t) to a Ryzen 9 5950X (16c/32t) CPU and I was hoping to cut the compilation time in half with NTLite. Naturally it's marginally faster but the compilation time is still extremely high. NTLite takes ruffly 22 minutes to compile...

    GamerOS Windows 10 & 11 DIY Preset

I would advise to not remove speechapi 'Speech API' (you can still remove speechcommon 'Speech Recognition' and speechtts 'Speech TTS' though). This component is needed to run Farcry 6, otherwise it'll crash on start On side note, I know Phasmophobia (game) listens to what you say which in turn...

Win 11 with NTLite's Gaming preset breaks Far Cry 6

nuhi Maybe we should add a games compatibility option, like this? Games: - Farcry 6 [] (blocks removal of speechapi 'Speech API') - Ingame webbrowsers [] (blocks removal of Internet Explorer)

Win 11 with NTLite's Gaming preset breaks Far Cry 6

SOLVED After hours of debugging I managed to find the component which crashes Farcry 6, it's speechapi 'Speech API' However, the game works fine if you just remove: speechcommon 'Speech Recognition' speechtts 'Speech TTS'

Win 11 with NTLite's Gaming preset breaks Far Cry 6

Great suggestion guys :) I recall having issues with in-game browsers after removing Internet Explorer in Windows 10 but I haven't confirmed if that's still the case in Windows 11

NTLite v2.3.0.8375 - Detected file in use within the mount directory

nuhi Looks like I found a (new) way of getting this error I've grabbed Txmmy GamerOS preset and I've made a minor tweak (I applied the settings to the boot image and I added back Hyper-V Guest component) which makes NTLite complain about the resource being used. I've tried multiple times and got...

Win 11 with NTLite's Gaming preset breaks Far Cry 6

Unfortunately the game doesn't produce any logs thus it's hard to identify which component is causing the game to crash after finishing "Warming up PSU cache" step. The game works out of the box with official Windows 11 installation for reference Has anyone encountered this issue?

[Solved] Win 11 with NTLite's Gaming template breaks installer

The new Gaming template in NTLite isn't compatible with Windows installer (meaning when you boot from the .ISO and select language, partition disks and so on). I'm unable to make selections in the setup (with both the mouse and keyboard). Any clues which component might be causing this issue?
