NTLite 1.6.3.6440 and 1.7 beta

The only way to get Full integration is to capture an image.
The updates 2862330 and 2830477 aren't listed as existing in my source, will check/try other way.
Let's say "Full installation", check Updates page after integration (load the image updated once it has finished the integration), there you will see the existing packages' states (Install Pending).

In Windows 7 SP1 source you can see the KB976902 (SP1) state as 'Installed'.

Even with xp there were some updates that didnt directly integrate and you were sol with c++ and .nets.

Most updates integrated in XP, not in post-setup is very much the same as SP1 "installed" in Windows 7 SP1 (vanilla), there are 2 "updates" in vanilla shown as "pending", one is for language (where it applies, mine is ES-ES).

It wasnt a biggy then and it isnt now.
There is a huge difference:
Installed: All the files in the update are already registered in Windows Registry and original files to be updated are replaced.
Install pending: Is very much the same as an update in post setup before the desktop environment, where Windows needs to replace files (also the same as updates that ask for a restart).

Regarding a previous reply of mine, where I talked about the Filter function on the Updates page being hard to find, not in the same location as expected: Here's a composited screen shot, to show what I meant.

The "normal" location for Filter search is upper leftish, in the upper section of the page. So I suggest moving the Filter function on the Updates page to the same location, which requires moving the Clean Up function over to the right.

Yeah, the updates list is single plane, so it's possible to do the filtering and if you ask me has a much better search overview.
The components on the other side have a tree structure, so filtering could become clumsy, thus was replaced by a point search.
For example if you type "On-Screen Keyboard Tablet PC", it would filter out all except that component, but what about its branches.
If we don't show what's under the component as its dependees (Tablet PC etc), you might uncheck them without knowing.
If we show them, then what if you type an even bigger branch name, then the filtering becomes too crowded, almost pointless.

Btw thanks for the crash dmp file on the email, issue fixed in next.

To make sure we're on the same page (pun intended), I'm not talking about the mechanics of the filtering algorithms between the pages Just their location.

More of an ergonomic thing. I'm used to looking at the upper left of the Components page for filtering. So my eye doesn't see the filter area on the Updates page.

Basically I'm suggesting consistency in the UI. Pick one or the other, and keep 'em the same across pages.

It looks like Tablet PC is automatically removed against my will if I remove it along with other things and after that Office OneNote won't run again. I have to protect Touch-Screen devices or it will be removed.

pmikep, aha, now I understand, it makes sense about making the search/filter input boxes in the toolbar.
The question is of a technical nature now if it would be done easily. I wrote it down, if it starts itching me, it will be scratched :)
Thanks.

Windows 10 User, do you have any info on how to see that, which component pulls it? I checked the code, it's not there. Maybe you're implying it's some other component. Make sure to attach the preset demonstrating the Tablet PC (or One Note not openning), if Tablet PC is kept.
Btw don't remove the OneNote app from Windows, needed pieces from Windows are kept then for Office OneNote later.

Tablet PC is removed against my will and you want me to also leave the OneNote app that I also don't want. I think it's a question of trial and error until I found what breaks Office OneNote. What does the OneNote app have to do with Office OneNote when I can run the latter after removing the first with NTLite? And which pieces are those and what are they needed for later?

Here's my preset with Touch-Screen devices compatibility checked so that Tablet PC can't be removed (and because of that I'll be able to run Office OneNote this time). You just have to uncheck both to remove Tablet PC.

This is funny:

You don't really need to know but you can ask to microsoft as they build the dependencies.

Against your will? Blame MS because they built the pile of whasit os. Somethings are technically not possible.

Windows 7 because there is currently no technical reason to use w10.

Just had a look at the new update download feature, great work geyes :) I see that updates download to C:\Program Files\NTLite\Updates by default even though i ran ntlite from another location. I wasnt sure about this at first but i like it because no matter where you run ntlite from and how many versions you have you wont end up with the same update in multiple places, sweet

nuhi Could you set the tool so presets are saved to C:\Program Files\NTLite\Presets for the same reason please. :)
