Office365 Package and Silent Install

I am new with this as well... But You only need to put the office365.exe file in the post setup of ntlite... No parameter is required and no cmd is needed as well.
I have try your way, office365 deploy correctly to program file folder but when i run the office application like word, excel and powerpoint it doesnt run correctly (error) and the shortcut icon doesnt appear in desktop.

Any idea?

Look like this... When i add it again... I made a new office365 from fresh odt... First it didnt report anything and everything work fine.. But after a while it detected trojan again.. I google it and looks like its not defender fault...

I also did a isolation test where i installed a new ios from microsoft... Installed only ntlite and create a 365 file again... Same result happen then as well... The only common thing is my work wifi.. Can it be affected by that??... Any suggestion would be appreciated..
I don't prefer the SFX method.

Many security products will treat any SFX as suspicious, because it's difficult to scan the payload (especially one > 2GB). This advice might make some difference:

I dont think youll get desktop icon even if you download from normal installer from office.com. When you said error, what sorts of error are we talking about?

I am a new user to NTLite creating some images for work. We have a volume licensing server to activate everything, I was wondering how do I activate Office post install I have the config created using OCT and selected the licensing option as "KMS". Some of the workstations are also shared between remote users when they are in office, so does this also automatically install for every new user logging through AD? We have 2021ProPlus volume licenses for now and plan to migrate to M365 suite early next year.

NTLite doesn't try to address the issue of volume licensing. You can add any script (like ospp.vbs) that normally handles this in your production environment to Post-Setup. If you don't have an existing script, you can browse the OSD community for various KMS scripts.

OCT installs Office once on a PC for everyone, and should provision it for all new users.

This forum is thin at Office volume licensing expertise, for those questions you should probably in another community for correct advice. But whatever is suggested, it can be executed from Post-Setup as needed.

It really depends on the licensing model of Office 2021 Pro Plus. If it is the old "machine-based" license, then it should work for multiple users once it is activated via KMS when the device joins AD.

For other questions, I suggest you contact your local Microsoft sales and support, since the topics involve software licensing, AD and AAD synchronization, and how to handle M365 license assignment in M365 Admin Portal. I am afraid these are out-of-scope of NTLite.

Hello. I followed the instructions at the beginning of this page and when I try to create the SFX file I get the following message "Too large SFX archive. Windows cannot run the executable file exceeding 4 GB".

What version of Office are you downloading?
Most users don't need the full set of apps, and can exclude several of them to save space. Read post #16.

Make more space on the drive as it seems you're running out. A 1 TB harddisc formatted right these days is not uncommon.

Interesting. But, when I run the set up exe, I got lot of errors. id30038-49. , we cannot install errors. I tried all sorts of things, but could not succeed. In the tryings, I lost total office pack and as a last resort, i tried system restore. Still, after recovery of office, I could not open a single file with errors.
I just recovered only by uninstalling the office from my account page , reboot, and then select Install office, by online mode.
I downloaded, the odt, and replaced the xml configuration file with my version and downloaded the office. I have done this for future use. Everythig went right, a new Folder named Office was there to see in my odt folder.The downloaded odt folder, contained, set up exe, configuration.xml and Office. But , when I totally lost office, and when I tried , i got error, of cannot install, as proper channel error etc.
the config file is attached for reference to my pre installed home and student edition of office 2021, which have four in the package, word, excel, powerpoint and one more. the config file
<Configuration>
<Add OfficeClientEdition="64" Channel="PerpetualVL2021">
<Product ID="HomeStudent2021Retail">
<Language ID="en-us" />
</Product>
</Add>
<Updates Enabled="TRUE" UpdatePath="\\Server\Share" />
<Display Level="None" AcceptEULA="TRUE" />
</Configuration
This is suggested by copilot for my version. why i could not prepare a offline installer in case of need .please

This guide is written to help users download an offline copy of the Office Setup files, and start a clean install. It's unrelated to how the online Setup client works, because that installer will download its own working files.

For Home and Student Office 2021 Retail (64-bit version), use this XML:
Code:
<Configuration>
  <Add OfficeClientEdition="64">
    <Product ID="HomeStudent2021Retail">
      <Language ID="en-us" />
    </Product>
  </Add>
  <Updates Enabled="TRUE" />
  <Display Level="Full" AcceptEULA="TRUE" />
  <Property Name="AUTOACTIVATE" Value="0" />
</Configuration>

Note: You can't install a specific product in the Office Suite. It will try installing all of them, except for excluded Apps.

If you have corrupted a previous Office install, I would try uninstalling that version as best as you can. Then use a tool like REVO Uninstaller to remove any remaining folders before attempting to start over. There isn't much to this process, other than first downloading files listed in the config, and running setup.exe with the same config XML.

The only extra step in this tutorial is using a SFX self-extractor to run the setup client for you.

Thank you so much. I want to have a ready made workable off line installer. I will try your xml , sir,
will it work sir,
You have said that you cannot install a specific product, but what I tried is using command line, download this pack only to my offline installer. How i get the replies in my email , sir,

The directions on how to download the ODT and perform an offline install, are exactly the same as every Office Setup guide you will find online.

While you can specify which Office version to download, you can't install specific products in an Office suite. The installer installs all of them that are downloaded. What you can do is exclude products you don't want in the XML, so they're not downloaded.

I partially understand your reply. If i use your configure file, Will I get a ready made offline installer. please say. Moreover, if you access your download only with the microsoft outlook account, then may I presume that it does not have any specific key as it is used to be in earlier versions. If such is the case, will the offline installer be downloaded and later activated with the account. if there is product key , then where to access for this product key.

The ODT tool allows anyone to download install files for any version of Office that MS keeps on the back-end servers. There is no license required in order to use the tool, or install Office.

To activate any Office install, you will need to enter your retail product key or enable volume licensing.

- If you previously linked your Office retail product key against a MS Account, then a copy of the key will be listed on your MS Account dashboard.
- If you have a O365 subscription, then you should logon to your MS Account, when opening an app.

With the 23h2 everything is ok, the office implementation was fine, with the 24h2 instead it gives me an error, I tried, before doing everything again, to click on run
setup.exe from the c: office folder where I downloaded office with ODT but it gives me error 0-2054, does anyone know what it is?

There's and error with setup.exe from october 8.
Try see if can find Version 16.0.17830.20162 from august 12 - it will handle Office 2024 install just fine.

Now everything is fine, I redid the image and windows 24H2 installs with Office 2021.
I opened an ISO of Windows 23H2 also made with NtLite, I extracted the Office folder and put it back in the Windows 24H2 package.
I don't know why it didn't work before, maybe the Office download didn't work at the end
Thank you all

HI francis11,

I have done as you suggested and searched for setup.exe 16.0.17830.20162 from august 12 without success.

If you have it, please upload it so that I may download it.

Thank you.
