Telemetry settings not available

Hey nuhi

After I've installed Windows 10 with telemetry set to "Security" in NTLite, I'm not able to confirm or edit the telemetry level in the resulting installation.

I used a Windows 10 Education ISO and set the telemetry level to Security in NTLite.

After installing, I opened gpedit.msc to check the telemetry level, and couldn't find the associated setting, even though it should be available.

Here is a screenshot of the issue:

Here is expected behaviour:

I'm also attaching the Preset .XML file I used.

Thanks!

For comparison, this is an otherwise identical installation, with the unmodified Education ISO:

You removed the:
<c>asimov 'Unified Telemetry Client (Asimov)'</c>
So the setting would not make a difference.
In other words, that policy is part of that component.

OK?

OK!

So telemetry is indeed set to "Security" even though it's not shown in GPEdit, right?

Edit: Or are you saying ALL telemetry functionality is removed along with Asimov?

Thanks so much!

Yeah, removed.
Now, is it all that Windows does with other services unrelated to the general telemetry data... I doubt it.
SQM is another obvious one. To be clear it is not controlled with the Telemetry setting, that is just Asimov.
Generally go over the Remoting and privacy branch, and see which are interesting.
