Windows 11

all of them, for exp hogwarts
I played all the following games [cracked & purchased] on 24H2 since May/June & haven't encountered any issue

-Senua's Saga: Hellblade II
-CoD Modern Warfare II
-GoW Ragnarok
-Silent Hill 2
-Alan Wake 2 Lake house+Night Springs expansion/DLCs
-Until Dawn
-CoD Black Ops 6

What's the problem you're facing for Denuvo game? What're the titles precisely?

Just as reminder, if you don't have legitimate copies of 3rd-party software -- then we don't need to mention it here. Thanks.

Which is the better way to produce the latest 24H2 Win11 NTLite modding ISO

1. UUP 26100.1 24H2 base ISO+ KB5043080 (Checkpoint CU) + latest RetailCU (currently KB5046617 26100.2314)
or
2. UUP 26100.1742 ISO+ latest Retail CU (currently KB5046617 26100.2314)

Considering both will give the same result, I can only think about saving some time (& system resources)

I still haven't made any ISO onwards v1742, last was v1457 back in Aug-24
so asking for opinions

Why would you even consider to use outdated base to start from... Do you think you will be more safe? Nothing changes when you upgrade to the same build, out come doesnt change its not magic, its code. You just increase risk to break something with some extra steps.

They are all full of bugs, at least use the latest one to begin with so u can get the one with crushed known bugs...

@ tistou77

Which setting would you recommend under Updates -> Cleanu update backup? And Optimize AppX? Maybe some words of explonation would be nice :).

Thx in advance.

I have Custon for Cleanup update backup, it removes packages, etc... superseded (and keep only the latest versions)
I do not do any update installation in Live, etc....

For Optimize AppX, I tested it some time ago and I left it disabled, it must not have convinced me but I don't remember why
I should test it again

Always .1 base image + Checkpoint CU (now) + LCU integrated
so you're suggesting the 1st option that I mentioned in my OP
any specific reason for opting that over the 2nd one? Have you tried the 2nd one & notice any difference?

Also,
as you mentioned you use custom settings under the Updates -> Cleanu update backup
I read the descriptions for all three cleanup methods over there & it appears all the descriptions written there are the same

So again, any reason to set that specifically to custom?

and about Optimize AppX,
I think that's for Windows UWP apps MSIX package, not directly related to the CU/MSU packages

We had tested the different ISOs (at the time of W11 21h2 / 22h2) and the .1 is the "cleanest" image, with those where a CU is already integrated, there are still some superseded files
For those who don't "hunt leftovers", no problem

Yes that's it, for Windows App

Yes, that's what I know & have been doing thus far (before introducing this CP update)

Answered above

this part is still not clear

Tagging nuhi for further clarification.

[Context:

what's the differences between those three cleanup methods especially for the custom method?]

What's the question?

All three cleanup methods descriptions over there in NTLite [under the Updates -> Cleanu update backup] are the same,

What's the difference for the custom cleanup method compared with the other two methods?

Custom = NTLite implementation, all others use Dism.

Dism has some limitations, for example, if you integrate .NET 3.5 it will trigger pending operations (pending.xml file in WinSxS folder) which prevents you from doing the cleanup using Dism.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/a...sm-exe-resetbase-error-on-windows-server-2016

And I believe that Custom removes a little more and faster than Dism but may be less compatible.

Correct, I would add to that:
stick to Compatible only for those using Servicing Stack compatibility.

And since Microsoft lately is pushing DISM Rebase away, and it makes no size difference on 24H2 (or I'm not forcing it correctly), thinking of removing that option.
Then it would be simpler with just Clean update switch, and Component removal should get a prominent mode switch Servicing Stack compatible (DISM) or not (Custom).

Earlier (before 24H2) I used DISM Compatible & ResetBase but never used custom as it was not clear to me from the (*same written) description
I had issues with the monthly LCU installation so since then I stopped using the cleanup function since 22H2/23H2 but never asked about it

After seeing FLCL asked about the cleanup method that tistou77 uses (& he answered), thought to ask about this.

If there's no size difference since 24H2 (as nuhi mentioned), then there's no point in using this function anyway

Thanks for the clarification. nuhi & AeonX

Custom removes more than the others, but you can't uninstall/install updates directly from Windows anymore, if I remember correctly
