Hello
1. I haven't used NTLite for quite a while so I've installed it fresh on my new main machine a few days ago and extended the license.
2. I picked the en_windows_7_ultimate_with_sp1_x64_dvd_u_677332 as the source and proceeded with making my edits.
3. I used the update tab to fetch...
Hello
In the description for ContentDeliveryManager in the hover tooltip at the bottom it says Needed For: OOBE + Microsoft Account, but there's no note for this in Extra Info column and the setting is not locked down and can be toggled.
Mistake on the locking or description? Thanks

Using Win7 ISO
Configure -> Settings -> Desktop -> Takbar - Button Grouping does not work, stays Default. (Maybe not applicable to Win7, in that case the option should not be listed)
Hello
I freshly installed NTLite v2.3.2.8526 64-bit and renewed the license. I opened an earlier WIM image made with NTLite ~2.1.x.xxxxx (~June 2021)
Stage 1: The ISO is Win7 Ultimate EN-US 64-bit 7601.24214.180801-1700 - with older NTLite.
I have removed a number of updates that include...
Hello
Audio works fine and all, but none of the boundled software to control the audio features are working. They're like if they're not installed. There's no realtek HD panel or anything. There's also one unknown realtek device that doesn't have a driver reported in device manager, so it's not...
Hello
I've been working my legs off trying to set up a nice PC room with all my needs for development, video, picture, game and daily tech news and FOSS satisfied after struggling to manage it all on just 1 PC, with one OS. 3 installations of custom Win10 made with NTLite and 2 of Linux...
Hi
When removing or adding updates (packages, msu, cab) the DISM logs show the CBS component having trouble accessing several things such as deleting registry keys/values and a few other things, from the look of it, while I'm not experienced, but I used DISM standalone before and somewhat...
Currently it will overwrite DISM logs, I think it creates one .bak file, so there's a history of 2 DISM runs maximum.
Not that big of a deal but I was playing with package removal and so I dug in deeper, I'll play with it a bit more and we'll see how unreliable/buggy it is (not NTLite, but...
Hello
Looks like NTLite is not saving a list of removed updates to the Preset, which means I would have to do this manually one-by-one all over again for another run.
Fortunately a trick is to simply finish and create an ISO with the updates removed first, before doing anything, and then...
Hello
This is a minor question, not a problem.
Perhaps something that's known but I saw that syncutil.dll was removed correctly due to me removing the components around it, but while it's not in System32 or SysWOW64, it is still present in WinSxS under it's appropriate directory.
Is this...
NTLite tries to attempt some extra measures in the background to release in-use files when unmounting, it restarts explorer.exe without notification, this kills all open directories without any way of restoring them as Windows 10 explorer doesn't have "sessions" feature, etc.
Restarting...
Hi
So I saw Storage Sense being turned on when I navigated into it in UWP Settings, while I have checked now and yes I did disable it in NTLite
The other settings did not apply either.
Delete Temp files was checked, wrong.
Clean Recycler Bin after 30 days, wrong.
Tested in VirtualBox VM. I...
I've checked that the Post-Setup configuration is inside the preset XML, so it shouldn't be anywhere else right?
Yet for me it auto-populates out of "thin-air" without loading any presets, perhaps it's not getting cleared after shutdown.
This as infact made me think a preset was loaded and I...
Hello
A little intro:
While I happen to be a new user around here, I'm not by any means new to Windows tweaking. I have lots of Win7 tweaking experience, where things were still far easier for one home user to customize and maintain, without necessairly needing to bother with deployment tools...
For example:
<Version mode="offline">Windows 10 Professional (2004) x64 - Client 10.0.19041.450 (en-GB)</Version>
Does it make sense that it just says "Client" in there? Because the different activations are labeled as CLIENTCONSUMER_RET and CLIENTBUSINESS_VOL and I don't know about OEM, so...
