Oh okay, let's see what the others have to add on this.havnt got a clue.
Hi, till now, I didn't remove the IE from Win10 ISO via NTL, as I do not use it (actually never used it) so now on, lately, was thinking to rip that off from the base W10 20H1 base image (19041.1) but since I haven't done that before so just was searching throughout this (NTL) forum & found many OP(s) regarding some issue after removing the IE from W10 ISO.
Also, found a thread where nuhi confirmed that it's already been taken care of here in this post since v7596
So, before I proceed with the latest NTL v2.1.0.7760 a'with W10 20H1 base image (19041.1) to remove IE, just wanna confirm by asking here, what should I actually remove?
Should I just remove (uncheck) this 'Internet Explorer 11' option located under the 'Configure/Features/FOD' in NTLite?

That will do the job? Or I've to remove these 'Internet Explorer JScript' & 'Internet Explorer JScript-32 bit' components as well from 'Components/Network'?

Considering there are many dependencies listed here in NTL for these two components i.e. MSOffice, MSStore, VisualStudio, NVidiaDriverSetup etc, I just wanna take precautions before proceeding.

Hope, someone experienced, who've already tried removing these & IE, would help me out, thanks.
Hey francis11My 5 cents here - i remove all old EDGE + IE exept protected JScirpt incl. the Settings part and have no issues with Office2019, Store, Nvidia etc. (can't commend on Visual as i don't use that) and MSEDGE installs fine after latest SSU integrated in the basic 19041.1 image (tested) before adding the rest of updates to latest 20H2. Only issue discovered is when doing an audit/ capture the startmenu don't work in 19041.1 audit mode.View attachment 4414
Hi, just a typo - sorry my lack in english The pic show what i keept regarding both x32 and x64 for clarification and yes JScript i keep as it seems needed for other reasons ie. open urls in other apps/ programs. And all IE removed in Setttings too related to Control Panel Windows features.Hey francis11
so you just removed the IE11 from this option right?
& didn't remove any of those 'Internet Explorer JScript' & 'Internet Explorer JScript-32 bit' components, or removed only the 'Internet Explorer JScript' & didn't remove the 'Internet Explorer JScript-32 bit'? Just asking for confirmation as you only mentioned 'exept protected JScirpt' in your post + only highlighted the 'Internet Explorer JScript-32 bit' component in your posted screenshot.

so, you're saying that you removed both HTML viewer that comes under the script, but didn't removed those JScript, right?IIRC, I only removed both Internet Explorer HTML Viewer (so, I kept both Internet Explorer JScript) and also uninstalled the Internet Explorer package on the Updates tab.

& IE on update tab? Where is that exactly? I didn't see anything related IE in NTL update tab. There are two areas where the IE related stuff located, one is under the 'Configure/Features/FOD' here
Another one is under 'Components/Network' here
I presume, by update tab, you referred to the first one i.e. the IE11 under Configure/Features/FOD'
Yes, I think I didn't remove any of the JScript. Internet Explorer 11 was also unchecked on "Features on Demand (Capabilities)" but I think that's because I unchecked both Internet Explorer under both Internet Explorer HTML Viewer.
No, I really was talking about the Updates tab. At the right, under "Existing Packages", you can right click in the shown packages and remove them
That's interesting, I'll try this in my next test.
Oh, yeah, should've figured, missed that.
BTW, removing IE11 like the way you mentioned, & after that installing that modded ISO without IE11, have you come across any issue that led by this IE removal so far?

Nice, as you already mentioned it didn't break the HTML viewer, I will try to remove by this way a'with ActiveX & flash. BTW, what're the minimum/least compatibility options that need to be unchecked while trying to remove only IE11 & Flash & ActiveXSM03 just remove Internet Explorer and Internet Explorer - 32 bit in Components/Network that NTLite takes care of the rest
I can confirm that removing this does not break Extended View in current versions of NTLite (by opening services.msc I get the descriptions on the left).
You can remove Adobe Flash and ActiveX Service as well since they are only useful for IE.
Removing HTML Viewer can cause some problems.

Windows 10 User let me know about your test, will wait for that too.Now that AeonX mentions it, I kept both Internet Explorer HTML Viewer and only removed both Internet Explorer and Adobe Flash Player inside them (and removed the Internet Explorer 11 package on the Updates tab).
by saying this, do you mean that I don't have to remove this existing IE11 package from the ISO manually while modding the ISO to remove IE11 fully? It is also not necessary to remove the Internet Explorer 11 package on the Updates page as NTLite will remove this as well.

Just hope that it would not break the Windows Update path that leads to the windows update problem while updating to a new CU (i.e. error X*XXXXXX), that's the only one persistent issue that I have for the OS that I installed by the ISO made by NTL. While I'm quite sure that this issue definitely posted here by other users many times, IDK whether nuhi anywhere addressed this issue for a permanent solution or not. If anyone knows, kindly enlighten me.
& Just wanna know as we're talking about IE11 removal, you didn't say anything about the option that'ss under the 'Configure/Features/FOD' here
So, AeonX did you unchecked this too, or it got unchecked automatically when a user unchecking those IE related options from components/network?
Windows 10 User let me know about your test, will wait for that too.
SM03 IE, Flash and ActiveX are not protected by any compatibility options so with any of them checked you can remove them. Only HTML Viewer is protected and requires to deselect some compatibility options.
About the option in Configure/Features it is not possible to deselect it because when removing a component (IE in this case) your option in Features is greyed out.
And as far as I know in Features On Demand (Capabilities) on the same page it is not necessary to disable anything related to a component you are removing as NTLite will disable it. That's why I said to just remove the component that NTLite takes care of the rest. It is also not necessary to remove the Internet Explorer 11 package on the Updates page as NTLite will remove this as well.
Only thing i notized is that removing IE in Win10 is, that if you use cleanertools like Privatizer you have to untick options related to IE Webcache without giving error and forced to send bugreport. Pic show tick's what's working without IE.today, I made the latest 20H2.782 W10 ISO by removing the IE11 the way AeonX you described here, & everything seems to be working so far.
francis11 Windows 10 User & AeonX Thanks guys for your active participation here, in this regard, to address my queries.
