GamerOS Windows 10 & 11 DIY Preset

I noticed it's the GamerOs preset that has had store and all removed. Personally, i would restart the iso build but before applying it, add the widgets and features you need first instead of trying to add them after

I've tried this several times and can't seem to locate all the dependencies.

realrobd i hope you are aware that the GamerOS preset is just a guideline......... and if you had read through the posts as suggested, you would understand that things have to be changed for your own personal use

Contrary to popular belief, MS Store isn't required to execute apps -- only to download and purchase.

If you haven't removed Modern App support, and the required UWP libraries; any pre-installed "Store" app will continue to run. Store is needed to download new apps, or purchase DLC content. Windows Update will update any install apps, unless disabled.

In your preset, restore the UWP libraries:
<c>Microsoft.NET.Native.Framework.2.2 'NET.Native.Framework.2.2'</c>
<c>Microsoft.NET.Native.Runtime.2.2 'NET.Native.Runtime.2.2'</c>

Actually no, you can just load the GamerOS, build your ISO and have a perfectly fine install. But... Like I said... I enabled MS Store under apps, but I couldn't find the listed dependencies to enable them. MS Store is installed but does not work because of those missing dependencies.
I'll just have to look closer I guess. They're obviously there somewhere.
 
A tale of two camps:

Hard-core gamer: "ermahgerd -- MS Store robs my FPS, and muh privacy!!"
Casual gamer: "Hey, nothing runs."

Remember kids, presets are just templates. You can modify the XML file inside Notepad, and remove offending lines. Obviously start with a clean ISO if you've already removed components.

That's funny xD
For me personally, I just wanted to play with different installs for shits and giggles. The performance gains are negligible in my case.
I actually found the preset while watching Chris Titus Tech.

Appx doesn't expose you to worse exploits. In fact, it's sheer annoyance is because it runs inside an app container. Every user is provisioned with a private copy of the installed app. Infection of a personal instance can't cross to another user on the same system.

There was a reported exploit about two years ago, but that was MS forgetting to check provisioning. But otherwise, it's not the target of many security fixes. If you visualize the different app security levels:

Hyper-V VM > Sandbox > Appx > Win32

sadly no. I can install the control panel using "winget install 9NF8H0H7WMLT", it installs fine and I get the confirmation box "has been installed, run now". However it won't run. No context-menu entry, and nvcplui.exe returns "not found".
Seems to be connected to me integrating the nvidia driver into the image.
Installing the nvidia driver from the .exe after finishing install works fine, including nvidia control panel being available to all users, even new ones.
Any ideas on how to go about this?
