So all the builds are coming out with all the preinstalled garbage apps...
W11 uses a new start menu, and now you need a json file it seems (link1). Another thing that W11 needs in general is the bypassNRO tweak so that you can make an offline, local account. Read through these two threads for more insights (link2, link3) into Windows 11.

You're going to run into at least a few problems like this that you'll have to learn about and troubleshoot, because things change between operating systems, and this guide here was only meant for W10. I currently have no intention of updating my guides for W11, for many reasons. The only thing I can guarantee is that everything in all of my guides was meticulously and methodically tested for W10 21H2 and should be completely free of bugs, typos, or other issues, if they are followed as written. Anything off course is up to the person steering that ship to handle, and should really be posted in its own thread or a relevant one, rather than here, since W11 issues are not due to my guide.

As of this morning I have 293 items left on my to-do list for W10, which I'm researching and testing for version 2.0 of this guide. I personally feel like W10 is better for performance-focused individuals, and I've listed my reasonings for this in all sorts of other posts/threads, including the intro to this guide. The Windows Statistics thread is worth checking out since it discusses (link4) some of those aspects.

preset would help more than a video tbh

from what i can see you have microsoft edge , edge update, edge webview, Microsoft Edge (Chromium), all removed from the iso, so obviously edge won't work without it being in the iso. I'm assuming that the shortcut is reacting like that because it has nothing to go to so black screens and 'minimises'

that seems more like a system specific error than anything ntlite related. photoshop from what i have heard uses a lot of memory and reports around do state that running several programs at once with insufficient memory can cause it to happen

this should apply to windows 11 too

Thanks everyone for the help, I have my iso the way I want. Just last question what is everyone using for photos app. I'm going to remove the windows photo app because it wants you to log into online account.

I don't understand. Photos doesn't need any online accounts, that's for syncing to OneDrive or iCloud.

How many gigabytes of RAM do you have? This should be pretty easy to troubleshoot, simply open task manager (ctrl+alt+del) and click on the "Memory" tab on the left side. Look at the "Committed" numbers, it will say something like 1.0/18.8 Gigabytes, meaning you are using up 1.0 gigabytes and have 18.8 gigabytes of total memory. If you are using up all of your memory then apps will crash to the desktop, usually without an error pop-up. To solve this, buy more RAM, or increase the size of your pagefile.

Other memory errors, such as if you see a pop-up box saying "The instruction at 0x000000000 referenced memory...could not be read" is a whole different kind of problem, and has nothing to do with my guide. It can be due to everything from corrupted files to bad RAM, and so many other potential issues.

I don't know what I'm looking at in the video you posted, I don't understand why it has a bunch of mirrored images like I'm looking through a tunnel. If there's an error message in it, I can't read it. I don't know what the Chrome black screen means yet, with the info provided. Check into the task manager and report back, then we can figure that part out.

I don't get this login notification on my machine that uses this guide, but I use W10 and uninstall OneDrive (both of which are instructed in the guide), so Garlin is probably spot on that your real culprit is actually OneDrive.

OneDrive integrates itself into a lot of other parts of Windows, nags users, and uses up considerable resources and bandwidth, so it's really something that needs to be uninstalled on a "performance" machine. If you still need OneDrive, try the online web version instead of installing the desktop app.

Windows Photos app can be heavy on low end hardware. I used Windows Photo Viewer but it doesn't open some files. So I'm using IrfanView. This is the fastest and lightest program you will find but the UI is a little outdated. After some tweaks and using windows11 contrast light skin for the toolbar it improves a lot and is acceptable although I'm not completely convinced to use it definitively.

ImageGlass is another good option although it is a little slower to open images.

The fastest when opening images:

IrfanView > Windows Photo Viewer > ImageGlass

Hellbovine test this, its stable here with no visible problems.
grab mbk1969s PowerSettingsExplorer - Processor section(only) - copy settings name and guid's then delete them all using command line.
cpu is stable, doesnt overheat - HWInfo, been rock solid for over a week. disabled some power settings in bios.
see also my findings in the REAPER DAW thread.

Tip, change Scheduled Task Software Protection Platform to run at system startup, my w7 default is to run at 3pm everyday.
makes better sense to run at system startup that to run when you are doing something.

I will for sure, it's been on my to-do list. It's just a ways down on the list at the moment because it's so involved, and I wanted to try and knock off a bunch of easy items first, so I could pare things down and make my list easier to manage. On that note, an NTLite member contacted me yesterday and notified me that Nvidia has finally acknowledged the DPC issue with their drivers, and it's currently on the "Open Issues" tracker. I'm going to go make a post on the DPC Latency guide with that information and some links.
